Ōetsu Nimaiya is a major character from the manga/anime series, Bleach series. He is a member of the Royal Guard, holding the title "God of the Sword". He holds the position of Third Officer of the Zero Division, as well as "Divine General of the West".
He is voiced by Yōji Ueda in the Japanese version of the anime and by Catero Colbert in the English version.
Appearance[]
Ōetsu is a tall, dark-skinned man with long, dark hair that is cut short on the sides and dyed green. He wears a standard Shinigami shihakushō with a shortened hakama revealing the lower parts of his legs. He also wears a white sleeveless down jacket with the Royal Guard emblem, as well as gold-rimmed sunglasses with blue lenses and a pair of green slippers with gold trim.
Personality[]
Ōetsu is by nature a very eccentric and energetic character, with a constantly joking, positive attitude and a frequent habit of speaking in English. He refers to himself as the "Number One Zanpakutō Creator". Kirio Hikifune described him as a man with an unpredictable nature. During the fight, he maintains his positive nature, even when he ruthlessly defeats and finishes his opponent, and does not shy away from bantering with them.
In addition to this, he is not afraid to make life-threatening decisions to win, such as slitting his own throat to oppose Askin Nakk Le Vaar's The Deathdealing.

- Nimaiya's name is sometimes romanized as Oh-Etsu Nimaiya.
- Nimaiya's Sayafushi was originally named Sayabuse prior to the release of volume 66, which is the name it retains in the Viz release of volume 66.
