Moon-jung, more commonly known as 5th Floor, is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside 2rd Floor) of the Korean black comedy thriller Netflix television series The 8 Show.

She is portrayed by Moon Jeong-hee.

Personality[]

Moon-jung is portrayed as the most loving and caring of all the characters within her group; she is often seen taking on the role of mother or caregiver by trying to keep everyone at peace and trying to prevent violence from occurring. Unfortunately, this caring nature is her downfall, as the need for validation and her willingness to trust too easily make her vulnerable to others who want to manipulate her or take advantage of her gentleness. As the story continues through the series, Moon-jung encounters increasing amounts of mental and physical stress that eventually lead to her having a significant breakdown in her mental health.

Biography[]

History[]

Before entering the game, Moon-jung had been married to a very wealthy doctor in the past; however, after becoming involved in a romantic deception scheme, all that changed. After being fooled by a man she believed to be her lover, Moon-jung sold off her husband and everything belonging to him to repay her debt. Subsequently, Moon-jung's spouse took legal action against her resulting in both monetary loss and social stigma.

The 8 Show[]

5th Floor arrived and initially chose the Floor key, but changed her mind and went with the 5th Floor instead which is in between both lower and upper floors, not knowing what she was picking at the time.

The Breakdown[]

After the 6th Floor regains control and subjects the participants to further torture, Moon-jung snaps. She eventually takes a brutal, personal revenge on him, which serves as a symbolic release for the trauma she suffered from men in her past.
