The Abomination is one of the various heroes in Darkest Dungeon. He is a man with a mutation that enables him to transform, at the cost of suffering Stress for each turn while in beast form, and also causing stress to the rest of the party. However, he can use Absolution to relieve his stress.

In a tower cell in an isolated part of the world, two hooded men were holding the Abomination down while the third readies the branding iron. He brings it up to the Abomination's face and presses down. As his flesh burns on the metal, he was no longer able to contain the beast within. The man with the branding iron ran away, looking for reinforcements. The other men weren't so lucky. One of the men crashes into a wall, while the other struggles to escape. They made the fatal mistake of awakening a beast. Reinforcements arrived, but they were too late. The slaughter had begun.
