The Admiral (Japanese 大団長) is the formal leader of the Research Commission in Astera and a member of the First Fleet. A legendary member of the Hunters’ Guild, famed for his immense strength and leadership, the Admiral is a companion to the Hunter that often assists them in their ventures throughout the New World.
Personality[]
A free-spirited and boisterous individual, the Admiral often leaves the Commander in charge of affairs in Astera since he dislikes being locked down and waiting and would rather figure things out on his own. He says what he wants to say and leaves before anyone can respond, spending a long time in the woods. He compares himself to a sharq, someone who must constantly move in order to survive and who will not stop until he has seen the entire New World. He is pragmatist and sardonic, displaying a passion for life.
Background[]
Forty years ago, the Admiral traveled to the New World with the First Fleet. Despite his self-proclaimed status as "the top dog" of the Research Commission, he has always been more of a pioneer than a leader. According to him, it's critical to understand one's strengths. Of his group of pals, one was the one who thought, another who gave orders, and a third who tracked, while he conducted the fieldwork. For a while, it was effective, until the Seeker decided to go out on his own and discover the Elder Crossing's truth. Despite his sympathy for the Commander, who now had another duty to perform, the Admiral maintains faith in the Commander's ability to operate Astera, allowing him to travel as far as he likes. The Handler's grandfather and the Huntsman were also buddies with the Admiral.
The Commander is in charge of day-to-day operations in Astera, and the Admiral rarely shows up. He acknowledges that the primary reason he returns is to dine in the canteen, which is managed by his former companion, the Meowscular Chef. The two stayed close even after the Chef resigned from being a Palico. The Admiral has been following Nergigante lately.
Appearance[]
The Admiral's muscular body and disheveled hair give him an intimidating appearance, and he stands a head taller than others. He is a "beast of a man with golden hair growing so thick on his body, you'd mistake him for a Rajang," according to the Huntsman. For clothing the Admiral wears a sleeveless brown fur coat, brown leather pants and boots.
Trivia[]
- Thanks to his muscular body, thick blonde hair and superhuman strength, the Admiral is jokingly claimed to be a subspecies of Rajang by the community, with some claiming his act of using a boulder to shield the Handler was actually a turf war between him and the monster. Additionally, an infamous mod has been created where Rajang’s model is replaced with the Admiral’s, creating rather uncanny scenes.
