Adol witnesses the change in color and finds out Gazok's wife is ill and she asks him to get her husband. As Adol heads to get Gazok, he finds that the water was darkened and must hurry.
Adol heads back and learns that Gazok found the Eye of Earth, but Adol warns him about his wife's illness. Out of medicine, Gazok asks Adol to fetch the medicine from Selrei and gives him a bomb to blow up rubble on the right side of the temple.
At Selrei, Adol gets the medicine and takes it to Gazok so he can cure his wife, receiving the Eye of the Earth after she recovers. Gazok then asks Adol to go see the sage.
Back at Selrei, Dr. Flair greets Adol and reveals he helped Lemnos recover. He also takes Adol to the Elder's house so they can talk about the sage. When Adol explains he received the s.o.s. from Celceta, the elder asks Adol to find the Eye of the Moon which was later revealed to be in Esteria.

Adol manages to intervene in the Knight's invasion force, while having made sure to have delivered the medicine, and succeeds in putting down the Dark Knight himself, ending his attack on Esteria.
Adol continues his search for the Eye of the Moon where he finds it was in the hands of Lillia. When he heads to Lance Village, he finds out from her mother Banoa that her boarded a boat to Promalock on in the misguided attempt of bringing the Eye of the Moon to him.
Before seeking out Lillia, Adol gets his Wing back from Goban. The moment Adol reaches Komodo, Eldeel kidnaps Lillia and takes her to the Sacred Stormvale Castle as part of his plan to use her as a sacrifice.
Adol gives chase only to find the Romun Commander planning to exterminate Komodo if it does not surrender. When Adol intervenes, the commander retreats with his faction to the plaza in order to kill Adol and subsequently destroy Komodo.

Adol soon finds a mage in the process of turning an innocent into a monster and defeats the mage and his minions. Adol also finds several humans who have been turned into monsters.
When Adol reaches Leeza's cell, an unnamed Beast Master intervenes. Although Adol bests the knight, Bami knocks Adol out before he could save Lillia. When he wakes up, Lillia was taken somewhere else, but found the Eye of the Moon.
Karna reports that while the Castle has been taken, Eldeel and the Clan of Darkness were nowhere to be found. She then asks Adol to talk with Leeza who knew more than she let on while she tends to the wounded.
When Adol returns to Highland, the villagers apologize for how much they've wronged him and the elder explains to Adol that Leeza left after he entered the castle. He also explains Leeza had not been truthful with him at his first meeting and left out vital details.
The Elder realizes Adol might have been frustrated by Leeza not explaining what happened as the villagers wanted to make sure the Stormvale's hallowed grounds remained pure. She was assigned to look after Eldeel, revered as a god, before he turned evil and she sought outside help.
Adol also learns from Duren, his former cellmate, that the Great Sage has ties to Lefance. When Adol shows the elder of Selrei the Eyes, the latter escorts him to the Great Sage who explains how dangerous the ancient power of Celceta is to the world which might have what interested the Romuns.

Lefance also prepared a warning about the city's return when the lake turns blood red and darkens. The Sage then orders Adol to find the Hero Sword from the Mountain of Flame in order to see Lefance.
Before this, the sage tells Adol to see Gazok in order to see how he can proceed. When Adol shows the Eyes to Gazok and asks him about how to enter the Mountain of Flame, Gazok explains that it is on the opposite side to the Mountain of Ice.
After learning from Gazok's wife about a cave under a waterfall west of her family home, Adol heads there and navigates it to enter the inside of the Mountain of Flame. Adol fights his way through to get the Sleetwind Sword needed to create a path to reach the area where Lefance's sword rests, defeating several dragons that were in the way.
After getting the sword and showing it to the Sage, Adol summons the spirit of Lefance to get his help and learns the latter was why Leeza's letter was in Esteria. As the time to stop the ancient power of Celceta from destroying the world was coming close, Lefance sends Adol to get the Golden Pedestal from Pim and use it to break the ancient city's seal at an altar on top of the border pass.
Lefance then conveyed his power onto his old sword. After Adol breaks the seal on the city, he infiltrates it in order to try and save Lillia and the world. When Gadis tries to kill Adol on Gruda's orders, Adol was forced to fight and and kill him.

When Adol reaches the sacrificial chamber, Bami makes him surrender the Eyes under the false promise of sparing Lillia from sacrifice. Fortunately, Leeza brings Adol Eldeel's necklace so he can revive her at the ressurection chamber.

While climbing the tower with a human-turned monster telling him to hit the switch that activates the mirror warps, Adol is confronted by Bami who offered to make him a monster loyal to Gruda. When Adol refused this, she tried to kill him, forcing Adol to fight back and kill her.
At the top of the tower, Adol meets Gazok and his wife where he learns that the Wing of Valor he obtained from a lower floor should enable him to fly down to the Golden Shrine. After Adol flies down, he confronts Gruda on the way to face Eldeel and learns the Clan of Darkness leader corrupted Eldeel and intended to use him as part of his plan to attain to attain the ancient power to rule the world.
After Adol calls him out for this along with causing pain to Leeza, turning people into monsters, and the lack of care on how many people die, Gruda tells Adol that Eldeel will be his puppet and will share none of the power with the Romun empire as everything will grovel at Gruda's feet.
When Adol swears to defeat him, Gruda reveals that the Black Pearl came from Celceta and that it's more powerful than Darm and that it will be his (Gruda's). Gruda then proceeds to try and kill Adol to prevent further interference, but even when he turned into a dragon, Adol still kills him in battle.
After the fight with Gruda, Lefance communicates with Adol and assures him that he can stand a chance against Eldeel with the Hero's Equipment while he aids him. After Adol reaches Eldeel, he was thought he was to late and Eldeel completed the ritual.
When Adol tries to talk him out of unleashing the power of the Black Pearl, Eldeel instead says the world belongs to the Eldeen. Lefance assures Adol that Eldeel does not have all the power before the fight.

After Adol had to endure having to survive this phase, the spirits of Lefance's disciples arrive and destroy his armor in order for Adol to defeat him. After Adol manages to stop Eldeel, the hero sword shatters and Eldeel lays dying, expressing remorse for all the pain and suffering he caused when Gruda corrupted him and thanks Adol for not letting him die a monster.
When Leeza comes to the room, she wanted to stay with a dying Eldeel, but the Eldeen refuted her and asked her to restart her life without him, warping her along with Adol and his friends out of the city when it starts to collapse.
After the warping lands them back in Promalock, Duren greets them and wonders if there had been a wild goose chase, but is relieved everyone was okay with Leeza apologizing for the trouble she caused them.
Adol tells her to stop hanging her head and follow her own path. Dogi tells Leeza to be careful and may need to learn a few lessons from Lillia. Karna proceeds to make plans with Lemnos to rebuild Celceta as a great nation.
Dr. Flair arrives come with Adol, Lillia, and Dogi on Zem's boat so he does not become doctor fulltime in Promalock. Lillia asks Adol to come back to Lance Village if he gets that chance.
Dogi asks Adol not to stick around too much around Lillia too much or she might track him down, much to her annoyance.
After returning to Esteria, Adol and Dogi make plans for their next adventure when the latter asks Adol to keep in touch with Lillia as he might not want her to drag her to the wedding chapel.
