Adolfo is the deuteragonist of the Spanish movie Spy Time.
He was portrayed by Quim Gutiérrez, who, in their Spanish-dubbed versions, also voiced Gene Meh in The Emoji Movie and Jesper Johansson in Klaus.
Plot[]
Adolfo is working as a surveillance watcher with Martín. They see two thieves taking a TV, but decide to do nothing.
His girlfriend Katia picks him up from work. In the car, She berates him for not getting a driver license, and breaks up with him because she wants a life with more adventures and feels she won't have it with him.
Later, Adolfo and Martín are in a disco talking about Katia. Martín tells him she's a bitch and there are a lot of girls. Adolfo sees her in the disco and Martín and her start arguing about her leaving Adolfo, then fight and the bouncer separates them. Katia kicks the bouncer in the balls.
When they are out of the disco, it seems Katia liked the dose of action and kisses Adolfo, then they end up together in bed. Then she tells him it was just a farewell fling.
Adolfo goes to sleep on the sofa, and is surprised by a chinese thug. Adolfo panicks and tells him to take the TV and the credit card, telling him the PIN. But the thug starts hitting him. Adolfo is able to fight back, and, in the end, the thug gets killed by the broken window's upper part falling on him.
The day after that, the whole room is clean as if nothing happened. Adolfo tells Katia what happened, but she doesn't believe him and thinks he self-harmed to make her get back with him.
Adolfo encounters his father outside of the former's home, who rides him to his home to keep him protected. Adolfo goes to his old bedroom, and reads his old diary.
Adolfo is playing a fighting video game and goes to the kitchen for cookies. When he goes to the kitchen again, he catches his father putting the thug with a tuft in the meat grinder. Anacleto tells his son he's a secret agent, and explains everything. Then more of Vázquez's henchmen start shooting. After the shooting, Adolfo wants to call the police, but his father gags him and takes him to the GP's headquarters.
In the HQ, both find the door jammed, and the secretary and all the agents dead. They go to the emergency meeting point. Some people who aren't GP agents start shooting, so they get back in the elevator. Adolfo notices his father has a gunshot wound.
After running for some time, they are on a bridge and the henchmen are after them, so they have to jump. They see a truck with a tarp ceiling. Anacleto jumps first, Adolfo is hesitating but manages to make a better jump than his father.
After running away for some time, they go to Katia's house to treat the gunshot wound.
The next day, Anacleto gets up early, and serves orange juice to everyone. After they reveal some secrets, the mother says she has been working for Vázquez for 2 years and just told him where they were. As they escape through the fire exit, Anacleto distracts Joe and Mac while Adolfo, Martín and Katia run away.
Adolfo and Katia enter the supermarket, where they're surprised by some of Vázquez's henchmen. Katia runs away while Adolfo pays a restocker for the cans of beans he's carrying, and uses them to fight the henchmen. After some melee fight, he's tazed by Mac, and sees Katia being taken hostage by Vázquez and Joe.
Adolfo and Katia are tied to a post. Vázquez asks Adolfo where his father is. Adolfo tells him about how they had a distant relationship, then he and Katia start arguing. Vázquez ends up sick of it and stabs Katia in the eye with a tenterhook. In the end, Adolfo tells him he's going to the meeting point.
Anacleto calls a technician, who tells them he can do nothing. Anacleto starts talking to his son about the moment where he was most afraid, which was when Adolfo ate peanuts, to which he was allergic, then he had an idea, to make him eat peanuts to stop his heart and then reanimate him.
Martín wonders why Vázquez didn't stay to watch the scene, which makes Anacleto figure out he's still in the building. Adolfo decides to accompany him, and he and Katia kiss.
Adolfo sees Vázquez, Joe and Mac in the parking lot and starts shooting uncontrollably, and misses all the shots. Anacleto gives him his pistol, and he manages to shoot Mac dead.
Adolfo carries his wounded father as the latter tries keys to get a car. When they finally get close to one, they argue on who should drive, as Adolfo doesn't have a license and Anacleto is wounded. Adolfo manages to get the key from his father's hands. As Adolfo is learning to drive, he drives in reverse, crushing Joe against a wall. Vázquez appears in a van trying to crash it against father and son's car. Adolfo is struggling with the seatbelt, so Anacleto shoots it and pushes Adolfo out of the car. Vázquez crushes the car with Anacleto inside with his van. Adolfo takes his father's body and, in his last breath, the latter tells him how proud he is of him. Adolfo is now more determined than ever to finish Vázquez off.
Adolfo finds a bloodstain in a closet and shoots it, which makes Vázquez appear behind him. The latter starts gloating, but turns out he stepped on a chewing gum which blows him up.
Adolfo, Katia and Martín hold a funeral for Anacleto in the outside of his house, in secret, as he lived, per Adolfo's words. Then, Katia drives Adolfo to his house, and in the car, he tells her he's become a new man. Katia starts telling him she wants a normal boyfriend, the opposite of what Adolfo was now. Martín, who was behind tells Adolfo he hopes the latter noticed she's a bitch. Katia kicks both of them out of the car.
Adolfo and Martín are now working for the GP. In their new mission, Martín tells Adolfo to stay in his position while reinforcements arrive, but he leaves his microphone behind and goes against the terrorists by himself.
