Agent Mochou is the mother of Jen and was a Chinese spy that defected from the People's Liberation Army to the United States.
She is voiced by Grace Lynn Kung.
Background[]
Mochou was born in China and was trained as a spy since birth for the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Mochou, under the threat of death, was assigned to the American theater and worked closely with other communist operatives against the American war effort. When the Great War happened, she eventually came to realized both superpowers treated them like puppets. Mochou did not want to return to the People's Republic of China and fled into the wasteland. Mochou fell in love with a fellow spy and gave birth to Jen in the Capital Wastelands. Mochou taught Jen about how to survive. Mochou assumed that all governments had fallen, including China. However, she was wrong: Another pre-War asset, loyal to the PLA and CCP tracked her down using trackers embedded in her gear, and presented an ultimatum: Follow orders or have her and her family be killed, as she could be tracked by the Chinese Liberators that now roamed American soil. Mochou disappeared and was presumed dead by her family. Radiation exposure turned her and her fellow Chinese soldiers into non-feral ghouls. She is later found by the Vault Dweller in the underground Chinese base, The Deep, near the Whitespring Bunker, and asked them to hold their fire. She then explains that she is not there of her own free will. Jen arrives shortly after and is shocked by the sight of her mother. Jen is hostile at first, but can be calmed down. Mochou then will start to mend her relationship with her daughter. If the Vault Dweller does not talk Jen down, then Jen becomes permanently estranged from her mother and the Vault Dweller will have to kill Mochou. If Mochou is spared and makes amends with Jen, then after the heist of Vault 79, she will move to Foundation and be found sitting in Jen's room. Her stealth suit, in the meantime, is destroyed to ensure her superiors still loyal to the Communist cause can no longer track her and thus hunt her down and punish her for treason.
Trivia[]
- She wears a laundered green dress instead of her stealth suit when found in Founder's Hall after the Vault 79 heist is completed with Foundation.
