Agni, also known as Fire Punch, is the titular main protagonist of the 2016 dark fantasy manga series Fire Punch. He is a man with a regeneration blessing who's on the way to avenge his sister and his village after they got burned down by Doma.
Appearance[]
Agni is a tall, muscular man with short black hair. His entire body is on fire except for his mouth and the left side of his face, with his right eye being exposed due to the right side of his face always being burned off. Because of the nature of Doma's blessing, Agni is unable to wear regular clothes and, as such, always appears naked with the flames covering anything on his body. When Agni thinks about the trauma and pain he had to endure throughout the year, along with the illusion of his sister telling him to be Fire Punch, Agni disfigures his face and becomes Fire Punch.
Personality[]
Agni was once a kind-hearted, albeit somewhat violent, boy, willing to kill those who harmed his sister Luna when necessary. He cared deeply for Luna and his village, willing to use his regeneration ability to cut himself to feed the village when they were short of food due to the ice age. After Doma killed his sister, destroyed his village, and burned Agni in his fire, causing Agni constant pain and harboring hatred for Doma. After recovering, he resolved to kill Doma at all costs to avenge everyone. Although he is 23 years old, because he spent many years burning, he did not develop his mind, so he was left with the mentality of a 15-year-old boy. Despite that, Agni is still able to understand people and their situations, such as saving Sun and Neneto, helping to free Behemdolg's slaves, and understanding the situation of Togata, who was a trans man but, due to his regeneration, could not transition, so Agni sees Togata as both his sister and brother. Furthermore, after ten years of living with Judah and Tena's family, he has matured and lived his true age of 30 while developing feelings of guilt to the point of frequent suicides and understanding, as he has no prejudice against Tena despite her being Doma's daughter. However, Agni also has an obsession with Judah, as he selfishly wants to possess her, even if her sacrifice could save the world. But Agni still retains some humanity, as he does not harm people who do not attack him, like Tena, but only warns her not to come near him, even advising her daughter not to use the power of fire ever again. As Fire Punch, Agni loses all consciousness and becomes a nearly unstoppable force. In this state, instinct and power are what control Agni, driven by personal goals and deep hatred. After losing all of his memories and changing his name to Sun, Agni's personality reverts to that of his 30s, gaining more wisdom and intelligence as those around him regard him as the "Founder." Agni still attempts suicide frequently, as well as doubts about his past and true nature. But after watching Togata's footage of Fire Punch, he gains the will to live on until the end of time to meet Judah again.

Powers & Abilities[]
- Regeneration: Agni was born as a blessed possessing the ability of Regeneration. This blessing has given him pseudo immortality as he can survive being set aflame by Doma, he can also regenerate after being beheaded and regrow missing limbs instantly. This power also makes him stop aging as an adult and not require any food.
- Burning body: Due to a combination of the properties of Doma's flames and his own regeneration, Agni's body is permanently ablaze. As a result, anything or anyone Agni touches will result in the fire spreading and continuing to burn until there is nothing left but ashes.
- Superhuman strength and immunity to pain: Having spent eight years being on fire and continuing to move around despite it, Agni has gained an incredible amount of physical strength as a result, being able to easily take down many soldiers just with his fists. He also gradually develops the feeling of no longer suffering from the injuries he has experienced, making him immune to pain.
- Fire Punch: When Agni blacks out and becomes "Fire Punch". His healing, speed, and strength become enhanced but at the cost of a complete loss of sanity and killing indiscriminately.

- Agni's name comes from the Vedic fire god of Hinduism.
- Ironically, Judah is Agni's adopted little sister, while she is about 100 years older than him, and Neneto is his adopted older sister, but she is 10 years younger than him.
