Ai Miyashita is one of the main characters Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. She is 16 years old and a second year Nijigasaki High School. Ai was born on May 30 and is a Gemini. She wears a brown cardigan with her winter uniform instead of the regular blue blazer. During summer, she keeps the cardigan, but ties it around her waist instead and wears a wrist scrunchie and bracelets. Her main image color is orange. She is 163 centimeters tall, and her blood type is A. She is the center of DiverDiva sub-unit under Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Her solo song album is Meccha Going!!, Yuu & Ai, Tanoshii no Tensai and Saikou Heart.
She is voiced by Natsumi Murakami (who also voiced Ako Saotome in Aikatsu Stars!) in Japanese and Daisy Guevara in English.

An energetic second year, Ai is an honor student despite her gyaru appearance. She loves to make puns, especially using her given name ("Ai" means "love" in Japanese) and refers to herself as "Ai-san." She joined the school idol club because she likes to try new things. She did her early activities at the Famitsu App website and is described as a "true gyaru type school idol".

While her gyaru style and flashy, loud appearance may lead people to believe she's a rebellious girl, Ai is overall a kindhearted, reliable girl who loves making puns. Her family owns and lives over a monjayaki restaurant.

Ai loves her fashion and mobile app/games. She also loves candy and sometimes carries her.
Ai is perfect for both academics and sports. During to her proficiency in nearly every activity possible, she try her hand at anything fun, and her incredibly sociable attitude, her type of girl to have friends in every club, and as a result have also been involved with the activities of numerous clubs. She is very popular and a likable classmate/student with a flawless image at school.
