Aiko Aihara is a minor character of the anime, manga, and light novel series Seraph of the End. She was a sergeant of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, the leader of her own squad within the Moon Demon Company.
She is voiced by Ayumi Fujimura in Japanese and by Lynsey Hale in English.
Appearance[]
Aiko is young woman in her early 20s with brown hair tied in a long ponytail and wears the standard JIDA soldier uniform.
Personality[]
Aiko displayed remarkable courage, selflessness, and compassion. An illustrative instance of this was after her entire team was tragically killed. In a bid to grant the remaining humans more time, she purposely misled the vampires by providing false information about their whereabouts. Her unwavering loyalty to her fellow comrades persisted until the very end.
Biography[]
Alongside Eita Kusunoki another member of her squad, she witnesses the battle between Shinoa's squad against Guren's.
Later on, Aiko and her team members fought a noble and managed to kill their targets but the team had eight loss out of fifteen of their members. They are seen by Shinoa and Narumi's squad at two o' clock where Aiko asks them where Guren is, as Shinoa replies that he is not here. She informs the other members that they wait fifteen after. Narumi asks her if they succeeded on killing their respective noble before commenting for their tragedies during their battle. She answers that they did or else they would not be here.
She tells Narumi and the others to keep watch for them while they go for rest.
Soon after, she comes back, upon seeing the presence of Guren and apologizes for the loss of eight of their team members as she burst in tears. Guren reassure her that the casualties is in his hands and congragulates her for still bringing seven of the surviving members back before asking Makoto if any more squad have came back and informs them that noble vampires are located at a city hall in Nagoya being, Crowley Eusford, Chess Belle, and Chess Horn. Upon being told by Shinya that he is good at keeping handle of loss, Guren instructs the other squads for their plan to attack the remaining nobles and orders Aiko and her team to hold here for position for half an hour. Aiko however begs for Guren to take her team with them to which Guren denies before but is actually a joke and that her team should instead discuss teamwork among them.
Half an hour have passed and no one is to be seen until a few soldiers joins her. She happily runs to them as they ask where Guren is. As she was about to answer, she is stumbled by two helicopter that appears above them. She orders them to stay back, the colonel is at Nagoya Airport, and to run and hide to act as decoy. She summons her bow and fires a shot at one of the engine before being faced by Mikaela Hyakuya followed by two other vampires Lacus Welt and René Simm who jumps out of the helicopter.
Mika tries interrogates her. Aiko looks away to see her teammates being already overpowered by the other vampires and orders them to attack but they remain powerless against the enemies. Lacus grabs one of the soldiers and questions what is wrong with them. Mika suddenly pin her head on the floor with his hand where he where grabs a pill that she intented to swallow. She dares Mika to torture her all he wants but is told to shut up .or the others will hear her. Confused as she is told by him to play dead and she will be allowed to escape. Mika interrogates her if she know someone by the name of Yuichiro within the army.
As she expresses a paralyzed expression, Mika understood that she has the answer for his question and tells her to answer. Terrified, she screams that she know but Mika seize her mouth to quiet her. Hearing that, René calls for Mika and is replied that the human is dead which suprises Aiko. After an announcement says that vampires of the underground have been taking out, she grabs a knife near her and uses Mika as hostage. Mika asks her why she moved. She replies that Yuichiro is heading for Nagoya City Hall and warns him that all human including Yuichiro will be killed if heading there. Mika grabs her by the wrist and questions why trust him. She replies because of what he said and tells him to protect him before being cut half way by Mika who crushes her wrist, causing her to screams in agony. As Mika walks toward, he questions the location of the human that attacked this current location. Instead of answering, Aiko begs to not kill her before being sent meters away by a kick from Mika. Mika orders her to talk if she desire to live. She reveals that the JIDA have sent a platoon of 50 to the Automobile Museum and that he order was to assassinate a noble named Zane Lindau. As Mika, Lacus, and René discuss that they should go, she asks Mika to kill her. Seeing Mika rejecting her offer, she stands up to fire her last shot with her cursed gear while screaming that she know he is going to kill her. Mika ends her with a strikes in the chest. She thanks Mika in her last breath while laying on the floor.
