Akihiko Nirei is the deuteragonist of the action delinquent anime and manga series Wind Breaker. He is a second-year student at Furin High School and also, alongside Hayato Suo, a vice-captain of Bofurin.
He is voiced by Shōya Chiba in Japanese and by Bryson Baugus in English.
Appearance[]
Akihiko is an average-height teenage boy with messy blond ear-length hair and brown-colored eyes. As a student of Furin High School, he wears the standard black jacket adorned with a green collar and cuffs along with golden accents.
Personality[]
Akihiko maintains a comic and optimistic nature, with glimpses of his unfiltered and awkward nature evident in his encounter with his classmate, Haruka Sakura, whom he has deep respect for after witnessing his exceptional battling prowess. His disposition undergoes a dramatic shift when confronted by anyone stronger than him exhibiting heightened stress and fear, stemming from past experiences of bullying and his lack of combat proficiency. Joining Fuurin without martial prowess leaves him feeling inadequate, despite reassurances from classmates who perceive otherwise.
