Akira Ishida is the main protagonist of Habupain's 2020 survival horror game Saiko No Sotuka, the 2022 expansion Saiko no Sutoka no Shiki and its prequel Animated series.

He is the object of obbession of Saiko-Chan, who developed a one-sided romance toward him before developing stalker tendencies and attempt to murder him during a school day.

History[]

Background[]

Akira is intially a normal highschool student. He befriended Shinji Yamazaki since he was a little boy and the two are very close to each other. He had a crush on Yui Ichikawa, who is popular and a kind-hearted person. One day, he help a gloomy Saiko-chan, who he unintentionally become an object of obbession with, as she stalk him from time to time.

Eventually, he ask Shinji to take care of it, but unknowningly start up a second wave of bullying on Saiko. One night, as he return to school, he is trapped inside by Saiko herself.

Saiko No Sotuka[]

Main Mode[]

Akira wakes up bound to the headmaster’s chair late at night, just before Shinji’s murder. Saiko greets him in her obsessive Yandere persona, promising no harm will come to him, but suddenly shifts to her violent Yangire side and leaves to kill Shinji in the infirmary.

After escaping his restraints, Akira is forced to play Saiko’s twisted game, scouring the school for her drawings of him. Depending on his choices, Saiko alternates between her caring Yandere self offering aid and supplies and her deadly Yangire form, relentlessly hunting him.

In the canon ending, Akira managed to escape from the school as he locked the exit doors. However, Saiko break the window glasses open only to end up being stabbed by one of the shards. Terrified after seeing her bleeding to her death, Akira ranaway in fear.

This result in a series of trauma and mental illness that leads to the events of Yangire Mode.

Trivia[]

  • Akira is the stereotypical archetype of the "Senpai" character trope in Yandere's media, specifically on how their simple action result in their stalking. However, Akira's status is noted to be fairly realistic with trauma, PTSD and being broken from his encounter with Saiko.
