Akito Kurusu is the main character of the True Blue franchise (except for the anime adaptation "True Blue: Gaiden" where he is a secondary character).
He was voiced by Namikawa Daisuke in the anime adaptation, while some fans proposed dubbing proposals where his English voice would be Eric Vale while the Latin Spanish one would be Sergio Bonilla.

True Blue 2002:[]
Originally, Akito Kurusu's goal is to protect Aoi at all costs after being chosen to dominate her through an auction in which Akito must protect her from 6 antagonists.
Akito, at all costs, using violence and verbal aggressiveness, manages to defend Aoi without anyone desecrating her until the organization where she was auctioned abandons her because they no longer considered her valuable and in turn stopped all pursuit.
Akito finally goes to the park with Aoi where he proposes to her to be her future partner, she happily accepts, thus ending the story.
Anime adaptation:
In True Blue The Adaptation. Akito Kurusu lives happily with his childhood best friend Aoi Kanzaki until they meet at school with their nasty physics teacher Shouda Yuuichirou who will stalk Aoi at all costs.
In True Blue: Gaiden. After failing miserably in his attempt to save Aoi, Akito decides to break off all traces of relationship with her, remaining alone until Kaya, a girl who liked Akito decides to have a romantic relationship with him, unaware that an otaku named Fukui Masanobu will stalk Akito's new lover.

Akito Kurusu proves to be very tolerant when it comes to tolerating Aoi's arguments as the two in the visual novel have a very difficult and annoying friendship but despite that, he proves to love Aoi no matter what.

- The canonical ending was where the auction abandoned Aoi because they no longer considered her important, this being the canonical ending, as Akito and Aoi have a better relationship in the sequel.[1]
- Akito will mostly be "invisible" in both video games because we are forced to play the game in first person, even when the characters change perspectives, Akito will not have a fixed model.
- It is unknown why Namikawa Daisuke did not reprise his role in True Blue: Gaiden. Possibly it is due to the decision of the production company who decided to make him a background character.
- The company Lilim Darkness apparently didn't like the anime adaptation they made of their visual novel, they decided to create a short sequel where they ruin Akito to the point of making him worse than his anime counterpart as a mockery of the bad adaptation they made.
- As a result of the poor adaptation of the anime plus the lack of translation of its visual novel sagas, most foreigners are unaware of the origin of the eroge and only know the adaptation:
- An English speaking user decided to create a proposed video game wiki where Akito after being tricked and humiliated by Aoi, he would get powers where he would start a shonen story.[2]
- Most Spanish speakers felt sorry for Akito (the anime adaptation) to the point of creating fanfics where he takes savage revenge on Shoda, Aoi and Fukui, this is due to the lack of knowledge of the visual novel.[3][4]
- Some Spanish-speaking Facebook pages make fun of Akito's idiocy (anime adaptation) where they criticize him as angry and useless for letting Aoi go with the master by letting him know that the real hero was Shoda and not Akito (obviously due to ignorance of the visual novel).[5][6]
- A user who played the visual novel, decided to create a funny and mocking meme where he compared the Akito of the visual novel with the one in the anime.[7]
