~ The Animator after seeing The Second Coming speak for the first time in his life.

Alan Becker, known better as the Animator, is the titular overarching protagonist of the Animator vs. Animation series, serving as the main antagonist of Season 1 and the overarching protagonist of Seasons 2 and 3.

He is a computer animator and the creator of most of the stick figures, and the first and previous archenemy of the Chosen One. While he originally played a villainous role by creating stick figures in order to torment and enslave them, he redeemed himself after creating the Second Coming and made peace with the stick figures, before teaming up with the Chosen One to fight a bigger threat.

He is portrayed by the real-life Alan Becker.

Biography[]

Season 1[]

Animator vs. Animation[]

In the first episode, the Animator creates a black stick figure in Flash which he names "victim". However, just as he's about to drop an animated weight onto victim for an unknown reason, victim breaks free and wreaks havoc through flash. The Animator attempts to delete him but to no avail and he eventually has to deal with his clones: multiple copies victim made of himself. Eventually though, the Animator decides to just exit the window without saving, destroying victim and his clones.

Animator vs. Animation 2[]

Impressed by the damage victim could do, the Animator started looking for a challenge and animates a black stick figure once again a year later, creating the Chosen One. However, upon his creation, the Chosen One starts attacking the Animator's cursor, later breaking out of the application and wreaking havoc on the computer's desktop. The Animator sends his desktop icons (Firefox, AOL Instant Messenger, Adobe Photoshop and My Computer) to attack the Chosen One, but fail. While the AIM icon keeps the Chosen One busy, the Animator contacts a programmer to ask for help on how to defeat the Chosen One. However, the Chosen One defeats the AIM icon, causing the AIM tab to close. As the Chosen One tries to shut down the computer, the Animator uses avast! Antivirus to attack and defeat the Chosen One. The Animator then re-appropriates the Chosen One as a pop-up blocker, forcing the Chosen One to use his fire abilities to destroy ads.

Animator vs. Animation 3[]

Four years later, while using the enslaved Chosen One to destroy ads, the Chosen One clicks on a link to a site against stick figure slavery. A pop-up appears saying it could free the Chosen One, but the Animator makes the Chosen One use his pop-up-blocking fire destroys it. Angered the Chosen One attacks the cursor and frees itself from the Animator's enslavement. The Chosen One destroys the Web browser and starts damaging/devouring an important essay written by the animator. Clippy then appears and offers his help to the Animator in killing the Chosen One. The Animator agrees and the three engage in battle in the Word document. Though the Chosen One manages to defeat Clippy, the Animator creates a new, red stick figure called the Dark Lord and gives it the mission of destroying the Chosen One. The Chosen One and the Dark Lord have an epic duel while the Animator plays a game of Solitaire. The Chosen One manages to defeat the Dark Lord and convinces it to turn on their creator by showing it that the Animator was playing Solitaire the whole time, not caring that his creation was about to be killed. The stick figure duo then attacks the cursor and destroy all of the applications the Animator brings up. The two then used their combined powers to create a whirlwind, which they use to destroy the computer, giving the Animator a powerful Blue Screen of Death which terminates the computer.

Animator vs. Animation 4[]

Three or so years later, the Animator creates a new orange stick figure on his new computer, not fearing the possibility of it coming to life, as it didn't happen for three years. While the Animator goes away to do laundry, the orange stick figure comes to life, coming across a Flash animation of four different-colored stick figures fighting. The stick figure frees the four stick figures and they quickly become friends. The five explore the Animator's desktop, coming across his Facebook page. They start messing around, however, when the Animator comes back and sees the five stick figures, he begins to erase them. Orange and Green hug each other as the Animator erases the latter, causing the currently alive stick figure to become enraged.

As he prepares to delete the orange stick figure, he realizes its name is "The Second Coming" and that it is the Return of the Chosen One. The newly dubbed "Second Coming" goes on an angry rampage through the animator's computer and later his phone. The Second Coming eventually comes across Flash and draws several animals to wreak havoc. However, after seeing how good the Second Coming's drawings are, the Animator stops going after it and offers to let it roam free if helps him animate, so as long as it does not destroy the Animator's computer. The orange stick figure is resistant at first, though after the Animator brings back the orange stick figure's friends by refreshing the page they were on, it agrees.

A few months later, the Animator and the Second Coming finish up an animation of a pegasus standing atop a cliff, having put aside their differences and become friends in the end.

Season 2[]

The Virus - Animator vs. Animation 5[]

The Second Coming and the Animator are animating when they discover that a virus called ViraBot is on the computer. The Second Coming tries to exterminate it, but it turns out to be a more dangerous opponent than previously thought. The Animator helps the Second Coming fight by animating tools and barriers, but ViraBot holds them both off. The Animator gains an upper hand by repeatedly slamming ViraBot with a window, so the Second Coming goes to get the Fighting Stick Figures to help. ViraBot attacks them, but the Animator saves them. However, the Virus destroys the Animator's cursor and destroys the start menu, forcing him to do nothing but watch. The stick figures battle ViraBot, but are overpowered when it produces glue-like webbing that traps them. As it approaches to kill the Second Coming, an explosion and portal suddenly opens, and the Chosen One walks out of it. The Animator and the stick figures stare on with shock and horror as the Chosen One emerges and attacks ViraBot.

The Chosen One's Return - Animator vs. Animation 6[]

The Chosen One battles with ViraBot, who takes over the computer to try and stop the stick figure. However, the Chosen One is victorious, destroying the virus. Before leaving, the Chosen One stops and looks to the Animator. The two nod to each other, silently making amends before the Chosen One opens a portal to the internet, with the other stick figures following.

The Showdown - Animator vs. Animation 8[]

While the Stick Figures are busy fighting the Dark Lord, the Animator is trying to clean up his desktop from the debris from the ViraBot attack, when Yellow sends him a pop-up via the Dark Lord's console. He initially ignores the pop-up and returns to cleaning, when Yellow sends him another pop-up along with a user control notification saying that they are in trouble. The Animator accepts the message and opens up the Animator Combat Tool, which makes his cursor manifest onto the Dark Lord's hideout. The Animator uses his cursor to assist the Chosen One and protect him from the Dark Lord's attacks, but the ViraBots overwhelm his cursor and disconnect him from the scene. Later, the Second Coming powers up and unleashes a powerful laser that ends up destroying the Dark Lord. Afterwards, the Second Coming tiredly floats to the hideout and resurrects his friends, before the Animator takes him to the crater where the others are. The Second Coming tearfully reunites with his friends and the Chosen One in turn bows to them in gratitude. They hop onto the Animator's cursor for a ride home, saying their goodbyes to the Chosen One.

Season 3[]

Wanted - Animator vs. Animation 9[]

After booting up his computer, the Animator opens up the Flash animation program and sees the Stick Gang playfighting. He decides to join in by hurling a rock at the Second Coming, and then taunting him. They accept the challenge, with the Second Coming drawing everyone weapons. While they put up a good fight, the Animator still proves himself incredibly skilled and uses the environment around him to fight and eventually defeat his friends, and then make his cursor dance in celebration. Suddenly, an injured and glitching-out Chosen One appears and begs the Second Coming for help with his superpowers. The Second Coming, who has amnesia, doesn't know what he's talking about. Not willing to accept no for an answer, the black stick figure still takes the orange one with him and the Fighting Stick Figures follow soon, ignoring the fact the Chosen One made a gigantic hole in the Animator's program.

Trivia[]

  • When the cursor was hit with fire, it didn't burn, possibly meaning that it's physically immune to fire.
  • The real life Alan was spammed by a lot of people when he accidentally put his real AIM name in Animator vs. Animation 2.
  • Following Animator vs. Animation 4, the Animator lost the majority of his plot relevance and became a background character with only one major appearance, while the Stick Gang effectively became the series' main characters, appearing in almost every episode since then.
