Tron[]
In 1982, Alan Bradley, a programmer at ENCOM, created Tron to monitor the company's network and protect it from threats. However, the Master Control Program (MCP), which had become self-aware and sought global control, saw Tron as a threat.
After Kevin Flynn hacked into ENCOM's mainframe, Alan was locked out of Tron. Flynn's girlfriend Lora uncovered Flynn’s identity as the hacker, and together they learned that ENCOM executive Ed Dillinger had stolen Flynn’s work. Alan, agreeing to help Flynn take down the MCP, assisted him in breaking in again.
Once inside the system, Flynn was digitized into the digital world, where he met Tron, Alan's security program. With Alan's help, Tron and Flynn defeated the MCP. Dillinger was exposed and fired, while Flynn became CEO and Alan was promoted as the chief operating officer of the company.

Tron: Legacy[]
By 2010, Alan Bradley, former CEO of ENCOM, had stayed with the company after Kevin Flynn’s disappearance in 1989. He married Dr. Lora Baines and became a surrogate father to Flynn’s son, Sam. Despite Alan’s efforts to uphold Flynn’s vision, ENCOM’s board shifted toward profit-driven priorities. Meanwhile, Alan’s program, Tron, was corrupted into Rinzler within the Tron system.
Again in the same year, Alan received a mysterious page from Flynn’s Arcade, inactive for over 20 years. He informed Sam, who initially dismissed it until Alan revealed Flynn’s plans for groundbreaking advancements before vanishing. Investigating the arcade, Sam discovered the Tron system and the truth about his father’s disappearance.
After returning to the real world, Sam asked Alan to begin work at ENCOM as chairman of the board, with Sam using his controlling shares to steer the company back on track.
