Alan the Cable Guy is a minor character in the Netflix Animated Series BoJack Horseman, serving as a supporting character in the episode "The Shot".

He is a cable guy, who, after he went to BoJack Horseman's house to fix his TV, started to help him in his plan to get to break into a library so BoJack could get to film part of his movie, although he was partialy forced into the situation.

History[]

Alan is first seen when BoJack was making his plan to break into a library to make a scene for his movie about Secretarian, where BoJack tells them that someone could die in order for them to get there, with BoJack saying that he beleived that it would likely be Alan, who was fixing his TV.

Alan asked why BoJack would think that he would be the one to die, with Todd saying that it was because he was the one they least knew. Because of him overhearing their plan, Alan was forced in it, with him helping Princess Carolyn, Todd, and Margo Martindale break into a gallery to get the police's attention.

When the police appeared, they started talking about how they were fans of Margo Martindale, but didn't knew her name, which angered Margo. After Margo caused the police to believing she was opening fire at them, they try to shoot her.

However, Alan takes the bullet for her, and while Todd initialy believed that Alan had died, Alan revealed that he was alright since his cellphone protected him from the bullet. Todd still was sad because his phone was dead, but it turned out that it still worked.

Alan then recieved a message from his wife, whom he found out that she was going into labor and that he was going to be a father. He then leaves the scene to see his wife, telling the group that he hoped to see him again, which never happened.

Personality[]

Alan is a caring individual, who is willing to help others even if they don't do anything for him in return, and grew to become friendly towards BoJack's friends, namely Todd. Alan was also proven to be selfess, as he took a bullet from a police officer to save Margo Martindale. He's also presumably a loving husband, as he left to see his wife after finding out she was going into labor.
