Alex Smith is one of the five main protagonists of the first installment of Supermassive Games' The Dark Pictures Anthology Series, Man of Medan. He is the older brother of Brad and the boyfriend/fiance of Julia. Alex is voiced and motion-captured by Kareem Tristan Alleyne, who also portrays Tim Kindel in Quantico and Jesse in iZombie and voices Son of Ra in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
Biography[]
Alex was born in the late 1990s and with his younger brother Brad was raised in a typical American middle class family. He enrolled in a medical course at Ivy League University and became one of the brightest students. Soon at the university, Alex met and started dating a girl named Julia. They decided to spend the summer on a dive trip in the South Pacific Ocean as they hadn't seen each other for a long time, and could also introduce each other to their brothers, Brad and Conrad.
On June 20, 2019, Alex, along with his brother Brad, his girlfriend Julia, and Julia's brother Conrad went on a summer vacation to French Polynesia. With the help of Fliss, skipper of the Duke of Milan which they would stay in for the trip, Alex and Julia were able to go on a dive trip. Alex along with everyone else was taken hostage by the pirates that Conrad taunted earlier and is then taken aboard the abandoned SS Ourang Medan, an abandoned military ship. Alex and Julia spend all of their time on the ship together and eventually meet up with the others. Together, they form a plan to get the distributor cap back. If successful, the group will escape on The Duke of Milan.

Alex is motivated and insecure.
He is level-headed in dangerous situations and is also smart as well, being a medical student, identifying decompression sickness on Julia and treating Conrad's leg gunshot wound. He is caring and goes to lengths to save everyone.

- Alex is somewhat knowledgeable about diving and his hallucination when exposed to the chemical, Manchurian Gold, is a decayed human experiment.
