Biography[]
Alexander is a living jar who was created to be a warrior vessel, who, like the rest of his kind, carry the remains of dead warriors with their jar bodies. Hailing from Jarburg. a hidden village where other living jars live, Alexander, due to being a warrior vessel himself and having inherited the dregs of those that came before him, he decided to go the path of a warrior, and trained and strengthen himself in the ways of combat before leaving his hometown on a quest to become a grand champion, vowing to never return, due to his belief that the path he took must be trod alone. During his journey, he heard rumored of a festival of combat going on at Redmane Castle in Caelid and decided to participate, having heard of such festivities before. While on his way to the festival, he got himself stuck in a pothole at Limgrave and began calling out to anyone to help him out. Luckily, a Tarnished had just come by and was able to help Alexander out of the pothole and the jar gave him exalted flesh as a token of appreciation.
The jar continued on his journey to Caelid. If the Tarnished traverses through Gael Tunnel and reached the bottom, they can find Alexander, having found himself stuck at a dead end. He eventually managed to reach Redmane Castle, where other warriors, such as Blaidd and Tragoth, are present as they await the start of the festival (the Radahn Festival). Once the same Tarnished that had helped the former, arrived at the castle, Alexander will express his excitement of going to face the mighty demigod known as Starscourge Radahn, a demigod and a great general, who had been reverted to a mindless beast during the Shattering after being afflicted with Scarlet Rot.
After the festival commenced and during the battle, the Tarnished can summon Alexander to assist them. After Radahn was slain, Alexander's body had been damaged in the battle after just being struck once by Radahn, causing him to cowardly go into hiding. Despite that, he refused to give up on his path to becoming a champion, as because the Caelid deserts, where Radahn was fought, is littered with the bodies of slain warriors, he can use them to reclaim his warrior strength, assuring the Tarnished that he'll continue growing stronger. If the Tarnished goes to Liurnia of the Lakes, they found Alexander again stuck in another pothole, though this time he is more wedged in the hole. However, the Tarnished cleverly doused him in oil with oil pots to easily get him out. The jar again gives him exalted flesh in gratitude. He reveals of his home, and that had he went over to look at it down from a cliff, which is what got him stuck for a second time in the first place, stating that he can feel the warrior remains within his body admonishing him for his mawkiness, as in order to walk a champion's path he must not cleave into the past. Alexander then tells the Tarnished that he is heading to Mt. Gelmir.
He is indeed found again there, where he is seen tempering himself in the heat of the volcano's flowing magma so as to fix his cracked body. As he found the magma of Mt. Gelmir to not be of much help, he decided to head to the Mountaintops of the Giants, due to having heard of the inextinguishable flame of the giants. At the Mountaintops of the Giants, he can be summoned to aid the Tarnished in fighting the Fire Giant guarding the Giants' Forge, where the flame is. He later somehow managed to get to Crumbling Farm Azula through unknown means and encounters the Tarnished once again, as they seek to unleash the Rune of Death to burn the Erdtree. Having longing to fight a successful champion, he requested the Tarnished that they engage in a duel, as he has been impressed that the Tarnished was able to make it that far. If they accept, he will immediately engage them in battle. The Tarnished was victorious over the jar, who reveals that he had suspected that achieving a victory for himself is impossible. Accepting his defeat and in his dying moments, he gives them one final request to take his innards and what remains of him, acknowledging that even though all warrior vessels are destined to break one day, he himself had lived as a warrior to the end. Alexander then dies while his body breaks apart.
