Alistair Rhodes is the major protagonist in the Chaos Story of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies mode, also appears as the minor protagonist of the Dark Aether Story in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. He is the father of Scarlett Rhodes, and an accomplished archeologist and Demonologist in a mission to Stop The Order from acquiring Prima Materia.
He is voiced by Charles Dennis.
Biography[]
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (Chaos Story)[]
Alistair was a passionate, caring, if at times obsessed archeologist who founded himself fascinated with the unknown. He fathered a daughter, Scarlett Rhodes, who he could care for in her youth. During a trip to The Museum of London, Alistair had Scarlett watch for any sign of trouble while he attempted to steal an artifact from the museum. However, The Police would arrive and catch Alistair in the act, arresting him. Scarlett would then come under the care of various aunts and sisters, as well as Stanton Shaw, a close friend of Alistair's.
In September 1910, Alistair traveled to Morocco to meet Bruno Delacroix, a former enforcer of Lebeau's Gang in the Paris Underworld who joined the French Foreign Legion after he had attempted to assassinate Michel Depradieu, a rival gang boss, This led to his former boss, Lebeau, placing the bounty on Bruno's head. Alistair and Bruno discuss about his former associates stole the object he is looking for and the cult also known as The Order, should be allowed to have it. Bruno greed to help and the two trade to Constantinople and ambushed the convoy and stole the large wooden box, drove to Basilica Cistern with the rest of the criminal gang hunting them. Alistair and Bruno opened the wooden box revealing to be The Scepter of Ra and later used the map and traveled to Cambodia. Just Then, Lebeau and the gang, The Order found the two before trying to get the scepter back, Bruno managed to kill the gang members, But Alistair was captured by Lebeau. Bruno rushed to Lebeau to save Alistair and took several bullets in the chest but managed to kill Lebeau by crushing his skull with his bare hands, killing him. Bruno then succumbed to his injuries only to be revived by Alistair with The Scepter of Ra. However, Bruno then swore to help Alistair whenever he needed him.
After The events in Morocco, Alistair met Shaw in the city of Siem Reap in Cambodia. Alistair was trying to convince Shaw to help him on his journey when German Soldiers captured The Chemist. The German Officer told Shaw about the containers they used, which Shaw had claimed would work perfectly, had leaked the poisonous gas they stored and killed 147 of his men. Shaw was saved from being executed thanks to Alistair who promised to give the officer the greatest weapon the world had ever seen with the help of Shaw. They traveled to Angkor Wat where Shaw decoded the symbols on the wall and discovered Prima Materia sealed behind it. However, The Soldiers enter the hidden room, founded the small jar, upon opening it, The Prima Materia was released into the air and attacked the officer and the soldiers turning them into zombies. Alistair and Shaw fled through the temple while being pursued by the zombies, Just then, Shaw managed to create an explosive powerful enough to collapse the tunnel after them, The explosion was so powerful that a part of the temple collapsed almost killing the duo. Later, they recalled what happened and Alistair confessed to Shaw he was never there for the Prima Materia and was glad that thanks to the explosion The Order was denied any information about it. Alistair told Shaw that he would need him again one day before leaving. However, The High Priest was following him.
Sometime after, Alistair founded the Norse Artifact was in the Natural History Museum in London and was moved to a private collection in the Harvard University in the United States next year. Alistair then discovered the key for the artifact in a magazine which featured a Mexican Spy named Diego Necalli with key around his neck, After learning Diego was ready to met Alistair, Alistair's Butler, Godfrey, made the travel arrangements.
Alistair and Diego met in a saloon in Ciudad, Juarez during the revolution and they discussed about The medallion during the discussion. Before the two men were interrupted by The High Priest of Chaos and The Order Cultists via wearing normal clothes instead of the ceremonial dresses, who were also looking for the medallion. Suddenly, A fight broke out and Diego was knocked unconscious while Alistair was captured by The Order. Alistair then manages to steal a revolver from One of The Order Cultists before being saved by Diego and the two men escaped using a carriage. Diego finally agreed to give his medallion to Alistair, hoping to have it returned one day, before telling to leave the city for his safety. Having somehow managed to escape, Diego gave Alistair a gift, a medallion originally belonging to his mother. The medallion in turn, was given by Alistair to his daughter, Scarlett Rhodes.
After Mexico, Alistair wrote the letter to Scarlett where he explained his travels, The Order's intentions and plans, and a list of three people she could trust with his rescue, He sent the letter with a package containing the key for the Norse Artifact as well as tickets for the RMS Titanic. While receiving the letter, Scarlett left for Rhodes Manor.
On March 20th, 1912, Alistair invited dozens of friends and relations to the Rhodes Manor. Before the guests arrived, Godfrey knocked out Alistair and locked him in the wine cellar, realizing that Godfrey was under the influence and brainwashed by The Order after being killed and revived with The Scepter of Ra with a glowing red mark appearing on his forehead. During the party, Scarlett arrived at Rhodes Manor only to be fended off by Godfrey and pursued by The High Priest and his Cultists into the forest nearby. Inside the Manor, Godfrey, still brainwashed by The Order, started drawing glyphs on the ground before being approached by Alistair's guests, Gideon Jones, Christina Fowler and Jonathan Warwick. At the same time, Members of The Order activated the Celtic Artifact, which was in the possession of Alistair Rhodes, starting the trial and releasing Prima Materia into the Manor turning all the guests into zombies. Only Godfrey and the three guests survived, thanks to the glyphs. After the four completed the trial, Godfrey was forced to kill his three allies under the influence of The Order and ordered the Cultists to load Alistair into a car and leave before being confronted and shot by Scarlett. Afterwards, Scarlett enters the car and pursued The Cultists. However, her car broke down during the pursuit and crashed on the side of the road. Alistair was then loaded into a plane before it took off, much to Scarlett's disarray.
At some point after Alistair was kidnapped, The Order had brought Alistair to the ancient underground city of Delphi, where they encountered Oracle revealing herself as Medusa, who turned them into stone. Scarlett, Bruno, Shaw and Diego arrive to the City of Delphi to rescue Alistair, only to discover and realize his demise all too late.
Dark Aether Story (Vanguard, Black Ops 6)[]
Alistair Rhodes was a wealthiest amateur demonologist, researching and wrote all about powerful objects known as The Sentinel Artifacts. At some point, Rhodes hired Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe to recover the Sentinel Artifact believed to be located in The Principality of Avalon, paying a large amount for the excavation to be efficient and secretive, leaving Sir Archibald to recruit the workers among the local population. In 1913, Rhodes participated in the International Exposition in Belgium, during a reading of Francis Barrett's The Magus handbook, Rhodes met a little boy named Gabriel Krafft, who kept questioning about the occult following his reading. Rhodes became Krafft's personal hero and inspiration in life.
