Allegra Garcia is a major character of the CW series The Flash.

She is a metahuman with the ability to manipulate electromagnetic energy and a member of Team Flash. She is also a former intern turned supervising editor of Central City Citizen Media. As of Season 9, Allegra is the girlfriend of Chester P. Runk.

She was portrayed by Kayla Compton.

Biography[]

Pre Crisis[]

Allegra Garcia was born February 23, 1999 in Central City to a family of criminals. When Allegra was still an infant, her father abandoned her and her mother. Growing up, her mothers always blamed Allegra for her father's abandonment of them. At age 13, Allegra became a delinquent and was arrested by Joe West. No matter how many times he visited her in juvie Allegra refused to talk to him. On the night of December 11, 2013, Allegra got into a fight with her cousin, Esperanza, and her gang at the Juvenile Facility when she wanted out of the gang. However, when the particle accelerator at STAR Labs exploded, Allegra and Esperanza were exposed to the dark matter and granted similar abilities. However, Allegra believed her cousin to be dead as she was arrested at just age 15.

She was eventually sent to the meta-wing in Iron Heights, where Allegra had to learn to fend for herself. Many people found out shocking because she was only fifteen at the time. According to Cecile it was not the laws best moment.

Eventually, a string of murders and hits led Allegra to believe that her cousin Esperanza was still alive.

She becomes the vigilante, Wavelength, and has earned a suit when battling against Colbalt Blue and evil speedsters of Barry's past. In the end, she attended the celebration of Barry's and Iris' first born, Nora, which future Nora attended too.

In a potential future, Allegra and Chester are married.

Personality[]

Allegra used to be a troubled kid and a juvenile delinquent who had to fend for herself. Being raised mostly on the streets, Allegra eventually wanted more things in life and even tried to leave her cousin's gang. After being imprisoned in Iron Heights, Allegra was inspired by Iris West's articles about the Streak, making her wish to become a reporter just like her. She was also angry towards Iris for lying to her and never telling her that Barry was the Flash based on the fact that people lied to Allegra in the past.

At first afraid of her powers, Allegra became confident in her abilities. She was also insecure in her job as the chief editor of the Central City Citizen, even afraid to critique Iris' article on her captivity in the Mirrorverse before telling Iris she was both the writer and the story itself. but this doesn't stop her from uncovering the truth. However she likes to be seen as an individual different from her doppelgänger, as Allegra hated when Nash compared her to Maya, her doppelgänger from Earth-19

Powers and Abilities[]

Metahuman Physiology: After being exposed to the dark matter caused by the particle accelerator explosion, Allegra's genetic makeup was changed, granting her the abilities to control the electromagnetic spectrum. Her powers are similar to her cousin, Ultraviolet but Allegra's powers are fueled by love.

Abilities[]

  • Bilingual: Allegra speaks her native language Spanish and English.
  • Expert Investigator: Eventually taking an interest in journalism, Allegra came to admire Iris West-Allen's articles on "The Streak" and decided to become a reporter herself. She eventually became a writer and supervising editor.
  • Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant/Martial artist: Having learned to fight and defend herself at a young age, Allegra managed to keep up with her cousin Ultraviolet in a fight despite the latter being a skilled assassin.
  • Stealth: She was able to hide from Ultraviolet during the CCPD lockdown and get around Central City without anybody seeing her.

Equipment[]

In addition to her powers, Allegra owns a suit that she wears during missions and a redstone given to her by Nash Wells, which indicates nightmarish hallucinations on its victims. She uses this to embrace her powers' abilities. She also owns Frost's jacket and inherited Nash's techno fanny pack, gauntlets and smoke bombs.
