| “ | A bold girl with a knack for mechanics and an unshakable bond to her best friend. | „ |
| ~ Alone's description |
Alone is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Low) of Little Nightmares III. She serves as Low's best friend and partner in the Nowhere throughout the game. Near the end of the game, it’s revealed that Alone was Low’s imaginary friend, and died due to being unable to leave the Nowhere.
Appearance[]
Alone has frizzly, ginger hair tied into two pigtails and wears an old brown pilot's helmet with goggles that cover her head and a lime-coloured hazardous suit which covers both her body and mouth, save for her hands and feet. She also has a belt tied over her shoulder with a small magnet on the back which holds her wrench when she isn't using it.
History[]
Little Nightmares III[]
Alone was on a mission with her best friend Low to escape a collection of unpleasant locations known as The Spiral in order to leave the twisted world of The Nowhere, a place which exists between dreams and the waking world. They first push past unrelenting desert winds to find themselves approaching a fallen city known as Necropolis, which served as the playground to a giant Monster Baby with a petrifying gaze. Alone and Low carefully crept through Necropolis using the equipment available to them before the Monster Baby eventually managed to grab the duo and drop them deeper into the city's ruins. Alone watched over Low while he recovered from being rendered unconscious before they continued to make their way past the remnants of civilisation until they reached a mirror Low uses to send them to a Candy Factory.
Alone and Low navigate through the factory by wading off ravenous Candy Weevils with light and evading the constantly surveillance of the facility's dedicated, multi-armed supervisor. The young duo managed to disable the factory's surveillance cameras which hindered their progress deeper into the complex. However, this act of sabotage enraged The Supervisor, who the pair encountered more frequently after she makes it her priority to find them. Alone and Low were able to escape their pursuer by crushing them using a large hydraulic press before they find another mirror which takes them to The Carnevale.
They emerge in a series of dim storage rooms where they encounter a Nome who helps them restore power to the area in exchange for warmth. Restoring the power activates a nearby elevator the duo use to reach the floors above them, but it also disturbs mischievous sentient puppets that eventually ambush Alone and Low, forcing them to fight their way to the outside. They make it past those of The Herd who mindlessly amuse themselves with The Carnevale's attractions and rides until they find that the mirror they were searching for has been broken. Alone tried to comfort Low when he became upset that they were now stranded at the park before they proceeded to search for an alternative exit and soon come across The Carnevale's proprietor, known as The Kin, with his living ventriloquist puppet, Mini-Kin. Low is captured by The Kin and placed in a cage, but Alone soon helps him escape before they eventually commandeer a hot-air balloon to leave The Carnevale despite The Kin's attempts to stop them.
Powers and Abilities[]
Alone possesses similar abilities to that of other children in the Little Nightmares series, such as Six, Mono and Low, though she mostly carries a huge wrench which can act as both her tool and weapon. She, alongside Low, has an umbrella made from feathers that can allow her to float to the ground or even ascend to high places if needed.
