Amber Hearts, known in Japan as Kohak Hearts (コハク・ハーツ Kohaku Haatsu), is the main heroine in Tales of Hearts.
She was voiced by Marina Inoue.
Amber is a girl setting off from her home town in need of Soma, along with her older brother, Jadeite Hearts. At the beginning of the story, they are chased by Incarros, but she saves them by pushing Jadeite and herself off of the cliff before Incarros's energy beam hits them. Later, Shing Meteoryte finds them collapsed on the beach. While giving explanations, Amber refers to Incarros as "her". She is the owner of the Soma Elrond (エルロンド erurondo). During the events of the story, she develops a love interest on Shing and shows a real trust toward him.
Amber's weapon does not change through the story. Even from the process of Soma Evolve, it will not change forms during battle. However, upon reaching its final Soma evolution, the weapon will change into one of two forms that affect its appearance during battle, depending which Soma Evolve path the player chooses. Both of these options are considered Amber's ultimate weapons. Amber fights by using a mix of martial arts and Fire, Wind, and Light magic, though she is mainly of the Fire element. She can act as a decent healer, though that role is generally filled by Jadeite. Her Combination Blaster is Satsugeki Bukouken, which consists of a mixture of many of her artes, finishing with a cherry blossom kick.
Tales of Graces
Amber appears in Tales of Graces as a cameo boss, along with Veigue Lungberg from Tales of Rebirth and Reala from Tales of Destiny 2. In order to fight her alongside the other Tales characters, she must first be defeated in the Zhonecage. Then, the player must find her "missing precious item", an anklet, which she later reveals to be a soma that is very important to her.
Tales of VS.
Amber appears as a playable character in Tales of VS. During the events of the story, she is paired with Shing.
Tales of Innocence R
Amber appears alongside Jadeite in Tales of Innocence R as a cameo boss in the Team Arena.
- Amber's Japanese name is romanized as kohaku (琥珀), which in Japanese means amber, an organic gemstone. This is the basis by which her name is changed to Amber in all localized media.
