Ambrosius is a major character in the 1986 film, Labyrinth. He is a cowardly sheepdog who acts as Sir Didymus' horse. He was performed by Steve Whitmire and Kevin Clash and was voiced by Percy Edwards who also voiced Fizzgig in The Dark Crystal.
History[]
Ambrosius, Sir Didymus' semi-faithful steed in the 1986 film Labyrinth, is a dog who closely resembles Sarah's own dog Merlin. He has much more sense than his enthusiastic master, and knows when to run away from trouble, which usually leads to Didymus chiding him.
The Ambrosius puppet was used in close-ups, while a real dog was used in full-body shots.
