She's big! She's bad! She's the terror of the toy cupboard!
~ The quote at each end of the book series' covers.

Amelia Jane is the titular protagonist in the book series, Amelia Jane. She is a mischievous doll, but has redeeming qualities that make her heroic.

Appearance[]

Amelia Jane is a canonically ugly doll with yellow hair and pigtails with blue ribbons. She has yellow eyes and a red frock, thus having white socks with light red stripes and dark blue shoes.

Personality[]

Amelia Jane is mischievous, rude and cruel in summary, based on how the toys describe her. Despite this, she is seen to be caring and brave in her heroic moments and planning, such as saving the pixies from the goblins using an toy aeroplane. However, despite her also being brave, she can also be a coward at times too, which makes her pretty unpredictable, but also causing to be both dreaded and admired by the toys too.

Biography[]

Prologue[]

Not much appeared to be known about Amelia Jane's past. However, she did many things that are considered silly and very rude, such as pouring water into Tom's clothes, making him wet and uncomfortable for two days. The toys appeared to be angry at Amelia, but she didn't care.

Naughty Amelia Jane! — Book 1[]

Amelia Jane had wanted to find one of Nanny's hankies and decided to bring the scissors and cut everything, especially Nanny's best hanky while the toys were playing 'Snap!'. They wouldn't let Amelia play because she always had said 'Snap!' At the wrong moments and took away all their cards. Because of this, Amelia felt very angry and had cut the pink rabbit's tail, making him feel ashamed and insecure. Tom had tried to comfort him and demanded Amelia to get the scissors back, but she didn't dare too, and threatened him that she will cut his hat. Tom retorted but was afraid on making this go longer. The biggest pixie then came, asking on why they are sad, and the toys said that it's because of the scissors. The pixie then blamed them but the toys retorted too, with an excuse. Because of this, the pixie reverted everything back to normal, and trapped Amelia in the toy cupboard. She was angry, but then she was frightened, saying that she will be good, only for the red robin to come and tell the toys that the other pixies are being hunted by the goblins. The toys were frightened, and so was Amelia, but due to her mischievous mind, she was able to come up with the idea of an aeroplane to scare the goblins, and the toys agreed and freed her out, and Amelia drove the aeroplane around, scaring the goblins and saving the pixies. The pixies then noticed that Amelia Jane went over a new leaf, and so did the other toys, but apparently it wasn't that long, although Amelia Jane said that she is trying hard to be good now. However, It is implied that she keeps forgetting manners because she is a home-made doll, not learning manners yet unlike other toys.

Later, she forgot all her good ways, mentioned earlier, and mewed. Tom thought that it was Tibs the cat. No one was fond of him since he would sometimes chew on them. Amelia then decided to scare him by making a dragon's roar, which worked, causing Tom to run away, and so did the other toys when she tricked them. However, the toys noticed that Tibs wasn't here, and began to look after him, with Amelia being probably the only exception. She then got the idea of a soda siphon, and wanted to pour it onto Tom, and so she did, making him astonished. Eventually, she chased against the teddy bear, splashing him with the soda water siphon too, and thus the golden-haired doll too. The toys wanted to get revenge on her, trying to think of any idea to stop her from doing such thing, till the clockwork clown got an idea to polish Amelia's shoes.

Amelia Jane is naughty again! — Book 2[]

Amelia Jane is first seen near the acorns. Since no toy knew what acorns are, the sailor doll pretended that he knew what they are, and said that they are things that are used to make a necklace, and made one for the teddy bear. Amelia Jane wanted a necklace, but she couldn't. Because of this, she took the necklace and stringed it tightly. The toys were angry at her for this, but she didn't care. Eventually, Amelia Jane said that she wanted to take all her clothes and go in the water, and she did. However, during this, the acorns slowly grew, causing Amelia to be very scared, thinking that they are worms, and so did the other toys. Amelia then tried to untie it, but she couldn't, and the toys think it served her right.

Amelia Jane gets into trouble! — Book 3[]

There appeared to be a telephone, where the toys are afraid of, as they even thought of it as magic too. But Amelia didn't care, although Tom warned her. In fact, she even faked calling, but the toys thought that she was actually calling, which only added to her own manipulation to the toys. She faked ordering for four buns, four sausages and a watch, without having money. The toys were frightened, and didn't know if they would get arrested for not having money for the things you want to buy, but they thought it was pretty much likely.

Amelia Jane again! — Book 4[]

The toys had a party without Amelia Jane, because she wasn't told. When Amelia saw the party, she felt very pleased, but the the teddy bear said that it'll be a greater surprise when she figures out she isn't invited, causing the clockwork clown to giggle. Amelia then felt very angry, and went away. Eventually, while the toys danced in the party, Amelia then got a mischievous idea, and then hid their shoes under the mouse-hole, causing the mouse to munch on them. When the toys ran to wear their shoes, they didn't see them and struggled to spot them. Amelia appeared to be reading a book at that time. Eventually, the sailor doll suspected that Amelia Jane probably did something with the shoes, and the toys went to confront Amelia herself. Amelia then pretended to not know what shoes are, but it was pointed out by Tom. Amelia then said something silly, and the teddy said that they don't suppose anything silly either. Because of this, Amelia Jane then replied with, 'You can go on supposing', rudely and continued to read her book.

Because they didn't have shoes, they felt very cold on their feet, and one day Amelia confessed to them that she did take their shoes, which made the toys angry. They wanted Amelia to get them, but she would tell them to get them themselves instead.

Good idea, Amelia Jane! — Book 5[]

The toys appeared to be tired of Amelia Jane, complaining about her behavior. When Amelia had come, they all hid. Because of this, she gave them a scolding. She noticed the clockwork mouse, also seeing that his whiskers are messy, and wanted to brush them, but he liked how they were.

Trivia[]

  • Amelia Jane was once on the Villains Wiki, but her page got removed, mainly because the only villainous traits she had was being a greedy vandal and a mischief-maker, which is bog-standard.
