| ~ Sonic's reaction to seeing Amy. |
Amy Rose is a minor character in the 2024 film, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the third installment in Paramount Pictures' Sonic Cinematic Universe, and is set to return in the future installments, debuting in the upcoming 2027 film, Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
She is a mysterious, hammer-wielding warrior who saved Sonic from an army of robots.
History[]
Sonic the Hedgehog[]
While Amy Rose doesn't appear in the first Sonic the Hedgehog film, in the scene where Tom Wachowski and Maddie Wachowski look at her laptop with an Zillow apartment ad, it is possible to see that the name of the owner of that apartment is "Amy Rose", being a possible reference to the character of the same name.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3[]
While beating Tails and Knuckles in the middle of a race, Sonic found himself in New York City. He was soon attacked by an army of robots, which bore his resemblance, though Amy saved him with her hammer. Sonic asked who the hedgehog was, prompting her to remove her hood, reveal her face, and give him a smirk.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4[]
Amy will officially make her first appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, in 2027.
Appearance[]
Amy has the typical appearance of her game counterpart. She has short, pink fur, which drapes over the sides of her head. She also has tufts of hair on her forehead, but they're in a larger quantity than the games. Just like Sonic, she has triangular ears, a muzzle, arms that are the same color as her hair, and tan fur on her face. As a bonus, Amy has green eyes.
For attire, she's seen wearing a long, red cloak. This cloak has a hood capable of obstructing Amy's face. In concept art of the scene, she wears a red dress, a pair of tall red boots with shoelaces down the center, white cuffs and gray soles with chunky heels.
Powers and Abilities[]
Acrobatics[]
Amy is shown to be very agile, as shown when she jumps extremely high in the air.
Chaos Energy[]
During her fight with the army of Metal Sonics, Amy is shown to be able to harness chaos energy which allows her to generate, and control pink electrical energy, evident by her quickly taking out all of the Metal Sonic copies in only two sets of attacks, with a pink aura surrounding her hammer.
Equipment[]
Piko Piko Hammer[]
Like almost almost every variation, Amy uses a Piko Piko Hammer. Her hammer is quite powerful and can dispatch enemies with extreme ease. It also seems to use chaos energy, as it was glowing and managed to fly in a curve after Amy threw it.

Trivia[]
- In the games, Amy was the first of Sonic's friends, having chronologically met him before Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow. Here, she meets him much later on after Sonic has met the other three.
- It's also worth noting that unlike the original Sonic CD game, where Sonic saves Amy from Metal Sonic, Amy, in the film, is the one who's saving Sonic from his metallic counterpart.
- Just like Sonic, Amy's arms are the same color as most of her fur rather than beige, just like in the games.
- Amy was originally going to have a larger role in the third film, but she was reduced to a minor role because the film writers, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, thought that there wasn't enough room in the story to do her character justice.
- Amy is the second Sonic Cinematic Universe character to make a debut in a post credit scene and not say anything. The first being Shadow.
- Unlike Tails and Shadow, Amy is the only character who actually meets Sonic during the post credits scene instead of during the main events of the film or in a future sequel.
- She is also the only post credits scene character that was shown to have arrived on Earth offscreen without showing when or how. However, it’s likely that it’ll be shown in the fourth installment of the film franchise.
- Amy will officially debut in the upcoming 2027 film, Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
- As of 2025, it's still unknown who Amy's voice actress will be.
- It is likely that her voice actress will be revealed in mid or late 2026.
