Andre is one of the cops trying to keep kids out of gangs in the 1995 movie Clockers.
He was portrayed by Keith David.
He is a man of integrity among other cops. He often scolds kids, such as Strike's friend Tyrone who is often hanging around with the wrong crowd in the projects. Unlike Rocco, Andre does give a damn about Strike, though Strike often underappreciates it (though this is more a misunderstanding, rather than direct disrespect). It's hard to blame Andre, cause he's just trying to protect the kids, even Strike, from the pressures of bad life. While he does take it too far in his anger towards Strike, what makes him different from Rocco, is doesn't try to play a game on him the way Rocco did. Andre isn't a bad guy, he just is uninformed of what's going on between him and his world. He doesn't understand that Strike is brainwashed into a bad life, which he was in since being a kid.
Andre often is easily fed up. It doesn't corrupt his good character though. Even when Andre is finally fed up with Strike at the end, he is merciful enough to offer him a chance at escape. His isn't with bad intentions, unlike Rocco.
Andre is a good man who tries to save kids from going the wrong path.
