Tomo Kun, nicknamed Angel (Tenshi), is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Hiroka) of the movie "Belle". He is the younger brother of Kei who is a victim of abuse from their father.
He is voiced by Hana Hope in the Japanese version and Bentley Griffin in the English dub.
Personality[]
Kindhearted and gentle, the Angel is a joy to be around, despite the hardships he faces in real life. While their father paints them as a happy family on the outside, both brothers are victims of emotional and physical abuse endured by their only parent. Tomo is often protected from harm by his brother, who takes any beatings in his place and reassures him that none of what they are experiencing is his fault. Despite his brother's efforts, the abuse seems to take a heavy toll on Tomo, often leaving him in a dissociative state. Adding to that, he is highly afraid of getting into trouble, reacting to the mere idea of it with wanting to flee.
Appearance[]
Tomo is a young skinny boy with pale skin and light brown colored eyes. At home, he wears a white T-shirt and light grey pants, together with a pale green hoodie and simple slippers. His chocolate brown hair grows voluminous on his upper head, with thinner strands reaching down on the back of his neck. His bangs are slightly brushed to the side.
As his AS, Tomo takes on the form of a small angel-like clionidae with a semi-transparent white body and red dot eyes. His main body is mainly shaped like a formless blob, with exception of small ears on the top of his head, as well as wings sprouting from his sides. Over his head hovers a golden crown. In the core of his body sits a red orb resembling a heart, which shines brightly upon experiencing emotion such as fear or pain.
Biography[]
Tomo first appears as the Angel after Belle first sang ‘Gales Of Song’ telling her she’s beautiful. Later Suzu watched an interview hosted by Gogo Doggo and Mr. Reggsignation asking kids opinions about the Dragon where Tomo said that the Beast is his hero. The Angel lead Belle to the Dragon’s castle and showed her the roses he grew. When the Dragon yelled at Belle to go away he noticed the Angel was flying away scared. The Dragon comforts him saying that everything going to be ok. The Angel is seen flying around during Belle and the Dragon’s dance during ‘Lend Me Your Voice’. Afterwards while the dragon was getting physical beat up the Angel is seen faded lying on the ground. Gogo Doggo and Mr. Reggsignation host a second interview while the Dragon’s castle is being burned down where Tomo pleads people to help the dragon only to be bullied by the adults. While Suzu and Hiroka looked for clues about who the Dragon could be she hears Tomo singing a song only she and the Dragon know however neither of them suspect him so be the Dragon. Suddenly his father enters the room, disturbed by his singing and claiming he can not focus on his work. As he readies to hit Tomo for his supposed disobedience against his rules, Tomo’s older Brother Kei throws himself between the two. Displeased by this development, his father states that Kei should know better than to act against him at his age and tells him that he is worthless, wanting him to disappear. Suzu tries to contact them saying she’s Belle however he and Kei don’t believe her and are convinced that she wouldn’t help them not helping by the fact the 3 other strangers mocked them. After Belle unveils herself she wins over Tomo’s trust and he convinces Kei who is still skeptical to contact her again. However their father becomes aware that his abuse had been recorded and shared online. Enraged, he storms back into the room his sons are in and cuts the livestream off before they are able to tell Suzu their home address, effectively cutting off their only hope for being saved. However, Suzu still manages to find them through the help of her friends. The boy’s father chases after them. While Suzu protects both Kei and Tomo, their father violently scratches her face, drawing blood. However, unused to having someone stand up to him, he is eventually overcome by his own emotions and shock, fleeing the scene. Kei and thanks Belle for helping them while Tomo says she’s just as beautiful as her AS.
While it is not shown what happens to him after, it could be presumed that both Tomo and Kei were removed from their father's custody by child services or they ran away to live with another family relative.
