Angewomon is the Ultimate evolution form of Gatomon.
She is voiced by Mie Sonozaki in the Japanese version and Erin Yvette in the English dub.
History[]
She first appears when Kari is kidnapped by MarineDevimon.
The group are attacked by MarineDevimon and it kidnaps Kari. Gatomon tries to rescue her, but is affected by miasma with a fragment of Millenniumon inside and turns against Greymon. She summons a dark projection of SkullKnightmon/AxeKnightmon to attack him, but Kari manages to calm her. She tells Gatomon that she always be at her side. She snaps out of the miasma's influence and regains her courage. Kari's light allows her evolve into Angewomon, who destroys MarineDevimon and the Millenniumon fragment.
Angewomon appears again to aid Joe and Zudomon with snapping Jyagamon, who Joe recognized as the Potamon he befriended, out of its berserker state from anger induced by not being able to enjoy the fries it loved anymore after Burgamon discontinued them, using her Holy Arrow to enchant Zudomon's Vulcan's Hammer, which Joe combined with his Crest of Reliability to return Jyagamon to normal.
Her next appearance was when Kari tried to protect Petaldramon as it fought Entmon and was mortally injured by Entmon's attacks. Angewomon used her power to aid the mortally-wounded Petaldramon for the showing of noble spirit it displayed, and using that power granted to it by Angewomon's blessing, Petaldramon was able to take Entmon down in a kamikaze attack, turning both giant Digimon into statues that would serve as the heart of a new forest to replace the one Entmon destroyed that Petaldramon had sworn to protect.
She was soon called into battle when the Vademon followers of Millenniummon summoned Machinedramon to battle the DigiDestined. During the fight, Angewomon used up her energy with transferring it to Taichi and WarGreymon to defeat Machinedramon, causing her to revert back into Gatomon in exhaustion. After that, she could only watch as, despite the best efforts of Garudamon, MegaKabuterimon, and MetalGarurumon, Millenniummon is reborn, and the rest of the DigiDestined, sans Taichi and WarGreymon, are trapped in a sphere of darkness in Millenniummon's mouth, where it tries to crush them by compacting the orb in its teeth and jaws. Angewomon tries to help prevent the compression of data, but is unable to. However, the DigiDestineds' Crests react, not only giving WarGreymon and Taichi a second wind and the strength to force Millenniummon to spit out the orb, saving the other DigiDestined, but also cause Angewomon to digivolve into her Mega form of Magnadramon alongside MagnaAngemon into Goldramon to face Millenniummon together.
Following this, the next time Angewomon is seen is after the DigiDestined split up to solve the mysteries of their Crests. When Kari attempts to protect the forest left behind by Petaldramon's sacrifice from an assault by Soulmon and their leader, Angewomon finds herself having a hard time fighting them, but Kari's determination to protect the Digi-Eggs there, especially after one she cared for hatched, not only allows her to solve the mystery to the Crest of Light, but also allow Angewomon to access a fraction of her Mega self, Ophanimon's, power to defeat the Soulmon and their leader, returning them to being Digi-Eggs to be reincarnated, purified of the negative energy that corrupted them.
Angewomon continues to be of aid to Kari and the DigiDestined up to when they have finished solving the mysteries of their Crests and are summoned back to Wisemon's tree as it is under siege by the Soundbirdmon. When the Soundbirdmon merge into Ghoulmon, the Harbinger of the Great Catastrophe, Kari and T.K. are able to find newfound strength and will to allow Angewomon and MagnaAngemon to digivolve to their Mega forms of Ophanimon and Seraphimon. Though they slay Ghoulmon, it warns them that the Great Catastrophe has begun as white voids begin to form all over the Digital World.
When the DigiDestined are sucked into the void to confront Negamon and the Ultimate Argomon serving as his messenger, after the partner Digimon are flung in to aid the DigiDestined, Angewomon helps to fight off the Champion Argomon before becoming Ophanimon again to help deliver a mortal blow to the Ultimate Argomon after it becomes its Mega self, with WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon delivering the killing strike, but the Mega Argomon warns that Negamon can't be stopped as it prepares to destroy both the Digital World and the Real World.
However, the efforts of Omnimon in its Omegamon Alter-S mode sees to the end of Negamon and its reincarnation, saving both the Digital World and Real World from the Great Catastrophe. Gatomon later joins Kari in the Real World with the other Digi-Destined and their Digimon, while Tai and Agumon stay in the Digital World.
