Antares 1 is the main protagonist of the video game Ace Combat: Joint Assault.
He is a former military pilot who joined a private military company named Martinez Security prior to the game. His and his squadron's assistance was crucial in stopping Valahia's and Andre Olivieri's threat to the world.
Biography[]
Valahia Crisis[]
At some point after joining Martinez Security, Antares 1 joined a military show held in cooperation with United States Navy and Japan Self-Defense Forces. The show came under attack from unidentified aircraft, which Antares repelled, and soon a word of a terrorist attack on Tokyo came. Martinez Security sent its pilots to defend the city from terrorists, sending them into retreat. The organization responsible for this attack was Valahia, led by a former Securitate agent named Colonel Nicolae Dumitrescu. It eventually attacked Tokyo again, and swayed Rigel Squadron's loyalty towards themselves, convincing them to betray Marnitez, but Antares Squadron continued to attack Valahia forces, defeating them.
Antares and his squadron took part in further anti-terrorist operations in Egypt, Arabian Peninsula, Turkey, Croatian Adriatic Sea, United Kingdom, Serbia and Romania. At one point, Antares 1 flew Andre Olivieri, the hidden initiator of the conflict, through Valahian territory. When Dumitrescu threatened to launch nuclear missiles at Europe and North America, Antares Squadron was deployed to his commandeered nuclear missile silo in Central Asia. During the mission, they encountered Sulejmani and his men, now rechristened as Varcolac Squadron, whose members revealed Olivieri's role in the conflict before getting shot down. After this, Antares 1 entered the tunnel leading to the silo and destroyed the control centers, preventing the missile launch and killing Dumitrescu and Valahia's leadership in the process.
Dealing with the Golden Axe Plan[]
Aware of Olivieri's Golden Axe Plan, Antares 1 and his squadron headed back for the United States and battled the Golden Axe Plan Private Army forces. They avoided an attack on them and defended allied ground forces at the abandoned airport in Nevada and taking down the new Spiridus in Lake Tahoe. When Olivieri's private army attacked San Francisco, Antares defended the city and destroyed much of the GAP's forces, before dealing with Varcolac Squadron once and for all. At last, Martinez's ground forces stormed the Olivieri Life Insurance headquarters, with Antares 1 helping them take out the villainous businessman for good.
Epilogue[]
At some point after the details of Olivieri's Golden Axe Plan were revealed to the public, Antares 1 was seen taking off for a new mission.
