Anthony Rester, real name Anthony Carter, is a major antagonist in the second half of Death Note. He is Near’s assistant and the two are almost always seen in the same place at the same time, much like Watari and L. He is there during the final showdown between Near and Kira.
Appearance[]
Carter is a tall, well-built man with graying hair and grayish eyes. In the anime, his hair is light blond and his eyes are light blue. He maintains a kempt, professional appearance. He is usually seen wearing a white dress shirt and black tie with black trousers, and in the United States, he wears a shoulder holster.
Personality[]
He is professional, calm, and dedicated to the SPK. He can be seen as Near’s guardian and Near even trusts him with some of his secrets. He can also be almost invisible, as Near is sure Kira has never seen his face.
Biography[]
He assists Near in urgent matters. Stephen Gevanni and Halle Lidner are undercover, but Anthony is always at Near’s side. He also accompanies him on plane rides. He still works with Near, Lidner, and Gevanni three years after the Kira case in the “C- Kira” story.
