Anton is a giant and recurring character of the ABC series, Once Upon a Time.
He is portrayed by Jorge Garcia who also played Hugo "Hurley" Reyes in the oter ABC Series, Lost.
History[]
Before the First curse[]
Anton lived in the castle from a realm above a giant beanstalk inhabited by peaceful giants and protectors of magic beans. He has five brothers, including his oldest brother Arlo, who also happens to be the leader of the giants. Though they tease him and call him "Tiny", they do love him. After his brothers pushed him too far, he ran off, climbs down the beanstalk and enters the human realm. He was always facinated by the human culture and believes that not all humans are bad. He meets up with a Prince named James, accompanied by a woman named Jacqueline. They act as his hosts and friends by giving him a magical sweet from Wonderland that shrunk him to human size. while in a Tavern, they told him James' kingdom is going bankrupt and Anton offers to help by lending them some of his treasures back home. Little does Anton know, they are using him. For they want the magic beans for their own gain by orders of King George.
When at home and gathering some treasure, Arlo comes in, expressing how worried he and the others have been, and was shocked that he entered the human world. Suddenly, James and Jacqueline entered their realm and their true nature was revealed before the giants' eyes. But the two humans weren't alone, they bought their armies from their kingdom and attacked their castle, starting a war. While at war, Anton expressed regrets for what he inadvertently done, but Arlo assured him that he has a chance to save everyone by ordering him to destroy the beans to prevent the humans from getting them. Anton successfully destroyed the beans, but his brothers were murdered by poison blades. While James got away with some treasure, but Jacqueline got struck by her own poison sword by Arlo, avenging himself, after she stabbed him with her sword. As Arlo was dying, he gives Anton a stem from beanstalk so that one day, he may use it to grow more beans.
After the First Curse[]
Anton encountered two trespassers, Emma Swan and Hook. Thye came for a compass in the treasure room. They knock him out with poppies. After the affects of the poppies wore off, he attacks Emma. Emma defeated him, but spared his life. When Emma got the compass, she left Hook cuffed in the castle (not trusting him) and returned to the surface alone.
Off screen, Anton was captured by Cora and Hook and shrunk him to human size again and took him to Storybrooke with them. Later on, after learning that Cora is in Storybrooke, Snow White, Charming, and Grumpy, with Hook as their prisoner of interrogation for the whereabouts of Cora and what her plans are, enter the Jolly Roger and find shrunken Anton sleeping in a cage. They free Anton and assured that they are friends and that he is safe. But, when Anton saw David, he thought he is James and attacked him. He overpowered Charming and Grumpy, but Snow fired a warning shot with one of her arrows, ordering her to step away from her husband. Anton runs off but swore he will make David pay for his evil. The Charmings find out that Anton thinks David is his brother, for Charming has no recognition or connection to Anton. They both go out to find him and see what trouble James started.
When they found him, he was a giant again, caused by a mushroom given by Regina, and used him as a distraction while she, Hook and Cora continue with their plans. Charming reveals to Anton that he is not James, but is his twin brother, and that James is dead. They try to assure him that they are friends like Emma. Anton temporarily calms down when he hears word of Emma but resumes his rampage after learning she is out of town. With him still angry after James' lies and the destruction of humans, that he continues attacking. In an attempt to quell Anton's anger, David offers himself up for the townspeople's safety. Anton agrees to the deal, but when he stomps the ground and creates a hole, the mushroom's effects begin to wear off, causing himself to fall into the pit and cling on for life. The townspeople work together to rescue him. With much reluctance, he takes David's hand and is pulled up. He was very grateful for their help, and the Charmings assured that that's what they do and that they are not like James or any force of evil, proving and reminding Anton that he was right that not all humans are evil.
He arrives at Granny's with the Charmings, Grumpy, Red, and Granny, who all assure him that he will fit in town because of Storybrooke's fairytale inhabitants: Dwarfs, werewolves, fairies, etc. Anton asks if any of them ever think about returning home to the Enchanted Forest, Snow said yes, but it is not possible. Anton pulls out the stem that Arlo gave him that they may have away. Afterwards, he finds suitable soil to plant the stem, but warns everyone that the reason why he's bought here by Cora was to grown magic beans for her own evil plans. The Charmings assured they won't let it happen as they will have Blue create a magical cloaking spell to protect the forthcoming crop. With the help of the seven dwarfs, they work and go harvest a magic beanstalk farm. In addition, while practically a dwarf, he was given a dwarf pick which magically gives him the nickname "Tiny", which his brothers use to call him that. The dwarfs became like his new brothers, for they had lost an eighth brother named Stealthy who was killed by King George's forces too.
