Anton Mercer is a super wealthy scientist and partner of Tommy Oliver who is also adoptive father of Trent Fernandez. Although he is the identity of Mesogog he isn't really evil. He was testing a formula with Dinosaur DNA for a mutation he realized it wouldn't be safe to test it on anyone else so he decided to use it if it would create a new species for Earth. The formula went horribly wrong and he transformed into Mesogog. Tommy went searching for him hoping he was still alive not knowing that Mesogog was him Tommy lost all his creations he did with Anton except for the five Dino Gems which created the Dino Rangers.
