Anya is a major character in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, playing a large role in the story with her voice, similar to Fiona Taylor from Mercenaries, and Anya Stroud from Gears of War and Gears of War 2.
She was voiced by Sarah Mennell.
Biography[]
Throughout the entire story of Future Perfect, excluding the first mission, Anya assists Cortez through a communication device implemented into Cortez's Temporal Uplink, which Anya gave to him at the end of the first mission, shortly after the General introduced them to one-another.
Immediately afterwards, Cortez went into the large time-machine inside the Spacetime Marine HQ, where Anya's technical equipment was situated, and travelled back in time to chase the creator of the TimeSplitters, and destroy them before their creation.
At the climax of the last mission, Cortez returns back to 2401 - his native time - and reunites with Anya and the General. From beyond a large window, the three watch on in awe as the ruined, post-apocalyptic world before them transforms into a lush, green forest. As this happens, Anya faces Cortez and tells him that he is her hero.
Personality[]
Though only appearing in two cutscenes (the last cutscene of the first mission, and the last cutscene of the last mission), she is always heard throughout the missions, advising Cortez through the communications device from her office in 2401.
In cutscenes and gameplay, Anya makes several sarcastic quips to Cortez, either through irritation or just to amuse herself. When Cortez rushes into something without a seconds thought, Anya will become frustrated, but she eventually adjusts to it, saying "Why do I even bother..."
She is an expert physicist, yet despite her age, Anya is one of the top scientists on Earth in 2401, and helped to create the large time-machine in her office, which was used by Cortez to continue his mission. At the end of the game, she seems to fall in love with Cortez after he'd secured the future of Earth and mankind.
