Apple Kid is a supporting protagonist of the 1994 science fantasy video game Mother 2/EarthBound. He is an unpopular inventor living in Twoson and the archenemy of fellow inventor Orange Kid. He later becomes an ally to the Chosen Four, using his inventions to help them in their quest to save the world from Giygas.
Personality[]
Due to constant bullying, he is a very shy and insecure individual. Despite this, he remains kind and uses his inventions to help the world, growing attached to Ness and his friends.
Biography[]
His past is mostly unknown but it is assumed he lived in Towson for a long time, where he would be the archenemy of fellow inventor and neighbor Orange Kid. Despite being much more skilled in inventing, he is shunned by the town in favor of the more liked Orange Kid. He lives in a slobby house in the present.
When Ness first meets him, he requests 200$ and a food item for his experiments. He later creates the Pencil Eraser, that the party can use to erase pencil statues, which help them in Peaceful Rest Valley.
He decides to help support the Party and give them multiple inventions to help them in their journey, including a pencil eraser that helps them progress to closed off locations (one of which allows them to rescue Belch’s slaves), creating a zombie paper to get rid of all of the zombies of Master Belch's army in Threed. He later appears alongside multiple others to be captured by the Starman Deluxe and placed in a tube in Stonehenge Base before he is rescued by Ness and his friends.
Eventually, he works with Dr. Andonuts and highly intelligent Mr. Saturns to make a second Phase Distorter to help the children. It is unfortunately stolen by Porky Minch but luckily he builds a third one for the children to use to travel to the Cave of the Past to defeat Giygas once and for all.
