Arama is a minor protagonist in Genshin Impact. He is an Aranara who serves as the overall tritagonist of The World of Aranara storyline, who aids the Traveler on their quest to obtain a Bija and save Forest Watcher Rana.
Background[]
Upon visiting Vanarana, Arama is the first of the Aranara to recognize the Traveler as the Golden Nara. The Traveler is introduced to play a song with the Vintage Lyre at a magical plant, a Silapna, to enter the Aranaras' dream world and place of living. The Traveler learns from the elder Araja that they need to host a Festival Utsava to create a Bija.
Before the festival was held, the Traveler performs three questlines, with Arama teaching the Vintage Lyre's magical tunes, to cleanse the dreams of three different Vasara Trees. The focus is shifted to the different Aranara until Arama takes them to Vanarana for the Festival Utsava. They gather flowers from the different Aranara members, weaving them into a garland.
The following day, Arama and the Traveler explore the Fane of Ashvattha, where they must obtain three Vasoma Fruits and offer them to the Ashvattha tree to obtain the Bija. Afterwards, the tree tells Arama to make the ultimate sacrifice to which he obviously agrees. Leaving the dream, they realize that the tree is too weak to produce Bija due to the Withering's corruption. They head west to Old Vanarana where the prime source of all corruption which has lingered even after Rukkhadevata's sacrifice, Marana's Avatar, lies.
Arama provides the player a shield which also heals their active character periodically and resetting their Withering gauge as the corruption from Marana's Avatar still festers in the air of Old Vanarana. They break the seals placed with Inscriptions of Remembrance. The second one involves burning seven Stone Pillar Seals scattered across, allowing Arama to drain the area of sand, revealing a tunnel, noticing Ruin Machines scattered around the area, proving Abyssal activity during the cataclysm. Down to the bottom, they encounter a Ruin Grader which Arama promptly defeats it, revealing another tunnel. Finding nothing important, they meet Aramuhukunda, the mysterious Aranara the Traveler met at the festival who unlocks the final seal to Marana's Avatar.
After purifying the three Withering Zones that hold together Marana's Avatar and destroying the core, Arama leaves to bring Arana back to Old Vanarana, revealing that he would utilize Arana's memories to create a new Bija. Arama sacrifices himself to become a new Ashvattha sapling, removing all traces of the Withering at Old Vanarana and as revealed by completing the quest series after the Sumeru Archon Quests, removing what remains of the Withering from Old Vanarana. Arana sacrifice his memories to produce Bija, with the Traveler aiding in the process performing the Rhythm of the Great Dream. Rana is finally saved with the Bija, and obtains a Dendro Vision.
