Arata Nitta is a minor character in anime/manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. Nitta is a non-combatant jujutsu sorcerer who studies as a first-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High.

Biography[]

Shibuya Incident Arc[]

On October 31, 2018, the bustling Shibuya ward of Tokyo was the subject of an unprecedented jujutsu terrorist attack by a group of highly sophisticated and powerful cursed spirits and curse users. Jujutsu sorcerers, including students from Kyoto Jujutsu High's sister school Tokyo Jujutsu High, were dispatched to curtail the disaster. The situation got out of hand after Satoru Gojo, the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer of the modern era, was defeated by the terrorists. Led by the believed-dead special-grade curse user Suguru Geto, the terrorists had used a powerful cursed object called the "Prison Realm" to seal away Gojo.

Because Iori and the rest of the Kyoto student body were already preoccupied with other missions, Nitta and the eccentric third-year student Aoi Todo were the only jujutsu sorcerers from Kyoto Jujutsu High who were able to respond to the call for reinforcements. At 23:09, Nitta and Todo reached the location where Gojo had been sealed, the fifth floor below ground of the Tokyo Metro's Shibuya Station, in the hopes of freeing him from his captors. However, on the subway line they found a large amount of non-sorcerers in a comatose state leftover from Gojo's battle with the terrorists and discovered evidence that Geto had already left with the Prison Realm.

Powers & Abilities[]

Energy Manipulation
- Damage Suppression: Most sorcerers are born with the inherent ability to use a specific cursed technique, known as an "innate technique," which can usually be used solely by them or members of their family. Arata Nitta has an innate cursed technique that allows him to stop recent injuries from growing any worse. He does so by forming a seal on a target's body with a set of hand signs and then touching said target. The technique doesn't heal its target, instead stopping a body's deterioration by stagnating its bleeding and reducing pain. Any wounds sustained by an individual after Nitta applied his technique to them won't be subject to his technique.
