Aris Jones is the first and only male member of a group of female teenagers called Group B. His name is likely a shortened form of Aristotle, the great mathematician.
He is the best friend and fellow Right Arm member of Thomas, Newt, Frypan, Brenda, Jorge, and Vince, the best friend and fellow Group B member of Sonya and Harriet, the best friend and former enemy of Teresa, and the best friend and ally of Minho and Gally.
Aris is portrayed by Jacob Lofland, who also portrays Neckbone in Mud, Owen Briggs in Little Accidents, Kendal Crowe in Justified, Colby Pitt in Texas Rising, Daniel in Free State of Jones, Josh in Go North, and Young Eli McCullough in The Son.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials[]
Aris, who was the first maze survivor to end up in the WCKD facility, notices that Thomas claimed that something unusual was happening in the facility just as he did so they both planned to investigate what was through the door that was guarded. The next day, after meeting inside the air vents, Aris and Thomas swiped one of the guards keycard and enter the harvesting room, It is revealed that WCKD's leader, Ava Paige, is still alive and that Janson is working for WCKD, as they discuss the experiment on the Immunes and that Janson has yet to find the Right Arm, a resistance group located at the mountains. The group, including Aris, but without Tim, escapes the facility, as Janson orders his WCKD troops to track them down, where they find themselves in the deserted outside world – the Scorch. The two girls from Group B sneak up on the ragtag group of Gladers, Brenda, and Jorge with Harriet holding them at gunpoint. Sonya orders the Gladers on their feet from their hiding places behind abandoned cars, but freezes when she sees Aris traveling with the group. Overjoyed, she embraces him, relieved to see him alive. The group eventually arrive at the Right Arm's relief camps, where other innocent survivors are present, and are greeted by Vince, who leads the Right Arm and is in charge of deciding whether they can stay or not. Later that evening, Teresa calls WCKD to her location, believing that WCKD's motivations are good, leading to an ambush by WCKD. Ava and Janson arrive and confront the Right Arm before WCKD troops capture survivors for experimentation, including Aris, Minho, and Sonya.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure[]
Aris, along with Sonya and the Immune children, are on a train headed to the Last City when Thomas, Newt, Frypan, Brenda, Jorge, Vince, Harriet, and the Right Arm rescue them and take them to their new hideout.
At night, while Aris, along with Brenda, Jorge, Vince, Sonya, Harriet, the Right Arm, and the Immune children, sleep, Thomas, Newt, and Frypan leave the hideout to go to the Last City to rescue Minho.
Sometime later, Aris, along with Thomas, Minho, Gally, Frypan, Brenda, Jorge, Vince, Sonya, Harriet, the Right Arm, and the Immune children, arrive at the Safe Haven. Aris is building a campfire with Gally when they both see Thomas, who has woken up, approaching them. Aris watches on as Thomas and Minho hug. At night, at the campfire, Aris, along with, Thomas, Minho, Gally, Frypan, Brenda, Jorge, Sonya, Harriet, the Right Arm, and the Immune children, listen to Vince give a speech.
Aris converses with Jorge. Aris is sitting with Minho, Gally, Frypan, Brenda, Jorge, Vince, Sonya, Harriet, the Right Arm, and the Immune children at the campfire when Thomas approaches them and sits down with them. The next day, while Aris is sleeping, Thomas goes to the memorial rock and engraves Teresa's name on it. Thomas walks along the beach, stops walking, looks at the ocean and the ship, takes out the serum, looks at it, and looks out into the distance.

Aris is described as a boy who has olive skin and "dark hair cut surprisingly short". It is implied that he was taller than Teresa, as she had to stand on her toes to reach his cheek for a kiss.
In the film adaptations, Aris is portrayed by Jacob Lofland, who has light skin and brown hair.

- Escape Artistry: Aris has displayed great skill in being able to break out of high-secured complexes along with others safely. During the film adaptation of The Scorch Trials, he was known to be an Immune who spent the longest time in the WCKD facility and he learned how to sneak around without being spotted to learn the areas that were forbidden to go into. When he sees Thomas concerned about the people working there, Aris goes into the air vents to find his room and shares with him where they take to kids chosen to go through the door. The next day, Aris and Thomas used a stolen keycard to infiltrate the locked door and found Grievers manifesting, along with Immune children's blood being harvested, and the facility was run by WCKD so they made it back to Thomas' room to gather the others to escape. When Thomas, Newt, Minho, and Frypan go to get Teresa, Aris goes to find the key to unlock the main vault door and waits for them to meet up there. Then once Thomas and the others make it, he smashes the security panel and they successfully escape the building with ease.

- Baseball Bat: During the film adaptation of The Scorch Trials, Aris carries a metal bat, which he swings on an incoming Crank's leg.
