~ Aris rejects her destiny to become the Demon Lord and chooses to become a hero.
“
I wanted to apologize to you. I rejected you, turned away from you, because I couldn't understand you; I tried to run away from you; I was afraid of you, scared of you, but even so, I shouldn't have turned away from you, I should have faced you, even if I couldn't understand you, but Sensei told me that you get to decide who you are. Kei could be who she wanted to she, too. No one needs permission from others to be who they want to be.
Aris Tendou (天童アリス in Japanese), originally named AL-1S, is a one of the characters in the 2021 roleplay game Blue Archive who studies in Millennium Science School and wields a Railgun. She is the most recent member of the Game Development Department (GDD), a club focused on playing and creating games. Aris was brought in because the club was on the verge of shutting down and needed more members, but it seems Aris is enjoying her time as one of its members. She also has her own series on Youtube named "Sensei, I Will Have a Moment of Your Time!", a series where she goes on short adventures with the Sensei of Schale, the main character of Blue Archive.
Aris is a robot that was found in the Ruins of Millennium, specifically inside an abandoned munitions factory by two of the GDD members Momoi Saiba and Midori Saiba. It was revealed that she was originally a genocidal killing machine created by the Nameless Priests called the "Princess". Her original purpose was to wipe out the current Kivotos, the city where the game's setting takes place, which was built on the spot where the Nameless Gods disappeared, using an interdimensional ship called the "Ark of Atra-Hasis". She was a weapon of mass destruction for the purpose of "establishing a new Sanctum upon the land." It was also revealed that there exists an AI inside her named Key (ケイ in Japanese) whose purpose is to "guide the Princess to its rightful throne."
She played as a major protagonist throughout the first chapter of Volume 2: "Clockwork Flower Pavane", where she and the GDD went through ups and downs in order to keep their club alive. During the second chapter, she switched through being the antagonist and the protagonist twice as she kept getting under the control of Key. At the end of the chapter, Aris fortunately took control of herself and chose to not fulfill her original purpose and instead become a hero. Afterwards, she continues to play the supporting protagonist role during the final volume, "Where All Miracles Begin". She also played as the main protagonist of one of the side events, "Where Aesthetics Reside in the Mansion of Deception".
Personality[]
“
Aris doesn't think Kivotos doesn't have magic. There is magic. Sensei made Aris happy now. Through Sensei, I learned that the reason games are fun is because they contain the beauty of this world. Games, cats, friends... and this moment too. There are many beautiful things in this world. Aris wants to know more. With Sensei… I want to learn more about this world!
„
~ A memorial that shows Aris' optimism.
As like many other robots, Aris began with a monotonous tone of speaking, one you'd normally see from a typical robot. She originally speaks in such a formal manner people would consider her unusual after listening. However, she began speaking in a livelier manner after playing a bunch of video games. Although this is a step in the right direction, she starting using gaming terms in her everyday speech, which at first was considered peculiar by others but was later accepted as her uniqueness. Since most of the video games she has played centers around adventuring, Aris has also developed an enjoyment towards adventuring, connecting it with the video games she's played. She dreams of becoming the strongest hero anyone has ever seen alongside her "party members."

Key[]
Introduction[]
“
The princess obtained the key, and the Ark is ready.
„
~ Key
Key is an AI that resides withing Aris. Ever since Aris was found by the GDD, Key remained inactive until Aris came into contact with mysterious robots found and brought in from the outskirts of Millennium. Key's sole purpose is to guide Aris in achieving world destruction, but this contradicts with Aris' dreams of becoming a hero.
Personality[]
Although Key may appear as an evil side to Aris, Key is only doing what she's programmed to do and doesn't wish for her Princess' death. In fact, Key attempted to protect Aris by warning her to not enter the Ship of Utnapishtim, a "ship" made to destroy Aris. Key also valiantly chose to sacrifice her life to prevent Aris from dying from using Aris' abilities as a Princess, as Key believed that "what should disappear isn't the hero, but the tool meant to destroy the world."
Maid[]

Trivia[]
In the Japanese server, her name is actually "Tendou Alice" (天童アリス), which is based from her real name "AL-1S". Additionally, the Japanese community also tends to call her "Arisu" due to a habit of pronouncing "L" as "R" and adding "U" at the end of names. However, due to localization errors from NEXON, the Global server instead named her "Aris". Although it wasn't a big deal, some people were mad.
In the Japanese server, Key was referred to as "Kei". However, it's referred to as "Kay" in the Global server.
The developers acknowledged the mispronunciation problems and kept it in as part of the story. It was even mentioned in one of Aris' lines where she mentioned that both Aris and Key's names were products of mispronunciation.
The English community of Blue Archive tends to name Aris as "Fridge" due to her weapon resembling a fridge. Since Aris is a robot, there were many electronic appliances that were used as her nickname, but the community eventually settled with "fridge".
Aris is the only robot student in the Blue Archive. Moreover, she is the only one among the robots to have a human appearance, and is the only artificial intelligence with a deity and mystery based on mythology.
Aris' weapon is the only weapon in Blue Archive that isn't based off of a real weapon.
The date of Aris' birthday isn't actually the date of her creation, but rather the day she was found in the Ruins.
