Armadyl is a hero in Runescape. He is one of the gods. He ascended to godhood through the use of two artifacts, one of which was the staff named after him and the other being the Stone of Jas. His followers are what he was before ascending, the aviansie.
History[]
Armadyl willingly obliged to Guthix when he requested that he leave Gielinor, likely because with his race gone he had no reason to remain there.
Armadyl did not have a substantial following until the sixth age, during which he was allowed to return to Gielinor.
Though Armadyl was given a chance to obtain the Stone of Jas by killing other gods, Armadyl decided not to. However, when Bandos challenged him to a fight to the death, he chose to go to war against him, knowing that Bandos would never consider diplomacy.
He eventually succeeded in destroying Bandos, which gave him an advantage during Sliske's game. (Players are given an opportunity to take his side during the game, even if they chose to support the Bandosians during the Bird and the Beast world event.)
Personality[]
Armadyl wishes to bring harmony between gods and mortals. He deeply cared for his people, and mourned their loss during the God Wars before discovering that some of them were still alive. Armadyl chooses to avoid violence, though he chose to fight Bandos knowing that he would bring war to Gielinor if he did not take action against the big high war god and he could not be negotiated with.
He is also shown to be homosexual.
Trivia[]
- He acts as a foil to Bandos, who he fought during the Bird and the Beast. Armadyl wishes for peace, while Bandos wishes for war.
