Egads! A very grave matter indeed.
~ Uncle Art's first words just as he's about to prepare and deliver a pizza to a customer.

Art Framagucci, better known as Uncle Art, is a supporting character in Disney's 47th full-length animated feature film Meet the Robinsons.

He is a professional delivery man who specializes in preparing pizzas. His style of delivering them to their intended customers is reminiscent of superheroes, where he uses his pizza-themed flying saucer as a means of transportation. He is also the brother of both Gaston Framagucci and Franny Robinson, the maternal uncle of Wilbur, and the future brother-in-law of Lewis/Cornelius.

He was voiced by the late Adam West, who also played Batman in the 1966 live-action television series of the same name, his fictionalized mayoral self in Family Guy and Commander Little in Disney's Chicken Little.

Biography[]

Uncle Art is first seen hearing an order for a thin-crusted cheese-and-sausage pizza while he's entering his flying saucer, further adding that he'll arrive at his latest customer within 30 minutes, or else their ordered pizza will be made free. When Lewis witnesses this with much amaze, he thought that Art's a superhero, but his future adoptive father Bud corrects him by saying that Art's just a pizza delivery man.

He is later shown to be having a dinner with the rest of the Robinsons alongside Lewis, where he amusingly watches both his siblings Franny and Gaston having a food fight thanks to her son Wilbur, who only did it in order for the rest to not find out about Lewis' past self being in the future. When Lewis asks its frequency, Art remarks that it doesn't always happen, which is backed up by his claim of the family having meatloaf on a previous dinner.

Just then, when Bowler Hat Guy brings Tiny the Tyrannosaurus rex to the future, brainwashes the dinosaur with Mini-DOR-15, much to the original DOR-15's irritation, and orders him to target Lewis, Art and the rest of the family all came to the rescue, where he saves Lewis with his saucer and attacks the hypnotized Tiny with pizza dough. They managed to completely foil Bowler Hat Guy's prehistoruc massacre against them in the end.

After that, Lewis gives thanks to the family for risking their lives to save him, where Art remarks that he's "a special kid". But then, Carl orders Wilbur to reveal Lewis' past self to said family when Franny proposes to Lewis about being adopted by them, resulting in their shock. To add insult to injury, when they hear about Wilbur's lie about Lewis not actually going to see his biological mother, they were all frustrated at Wilbur himself, to the point where Art gives an "I'm watching you" hand gesture at him just as they leave him behind.

Later on, after Bowler Hat Guy successfully gets back at Lewis for his past baseball blunder, where he also indirectly contributed to a robotic dystopia under DOR-15's rule, Art was seen being brainwashed with one of the "helping hats" along with the rest of the family, where all of them were commanded by DOR-15 to go after Lewis. Thankfully, this was all undone once Lewis manages to thwart DOR-15's tyrannical plans, resulting in the family's recovery, including Art himself.

Right after Lewis meets his future self as Cornelius, he bids farewell at him along with the rest of the Robinsons.

Trivia[]

  • His voice actor, Adam West, previously played as Commander Little from Disney's Chicken Little, who also has a superheroic aesthetic.
