Biography[]
Early Life[]
Upon hatching from it's egg, Pikachu started out his early days as a Pichu living somewhere in the Kanto region, but he was unable to find any parents and spent it's first days alone. But that changed when roaming around the woods one day, he met up with a herd of Kangaskhan and raised by one of them as if they were from the same species.
But while he did enjoy the time he spent with them, Pichu soon found himself ready to be on his own and one night, he crawled away from the Kangaskhan herd, though after once again being alone in the woods, Pichu stops and looks back at all the good times he had with them and to his surprise, he evolved into a Pikachu.
Shortly after evolving into one, Pikachu soon began to roam around the land until one day, he bumped into a human named Samuel Oak, a pokémon professor living in pallet town, where he was captured in a Poké Ball and brought into his personal laboratory alongside 3 other starter Kanto Pokémon where they would wait until a young kid had reached 10-years-old and began their career as a trainer.
The Beginning[]
Pikachu wouldn't find himself stuck in its Pokéball forever when one day, a young kid named Ash Ketchum who is about to begin his journey to become a Pokémon master, and he got him from Professor Oak as his starter Pokémon when the other three were already taken. At first Pikachu didn't get along with his new Trainer as such he refused to get into his Pokéball, but after a dangerous mishap where Ash pretty much put himself on the line for him, the electric mouse gradually warmed up to him and they become inseparable great friends as he would soon be carried off to the closest Pokémon center.
As he is resting up inside the center by a Nurse Joy and his trainer befriends a trainer girl named Misty (who chooses to stick with them after he accidentally destroyed her bike), he soon starts the first of his many confrontations with a trio of rare Pokémon thieves consisting of Jessie, James, and the Scratch Cat Pokémon Meowth that taught himself to speak English who are part of a criminal organization named Team Rocket. With that set in mind they begin their latest heist by stealing all the injured Pokémon there, but with Ash, Misty, and the local authority Officer Jenny's help, Pikachu is able to stop them from stealing them and free all The Pokémon they caught and send them all running away, though this would cause an unending game cat-&-mouse for him as his powerful attack impressed them so much, the bumbling trio would make it their life's goal to capture him & give him to their boss as a special treat.
Following this very first encounter with their new archenemies and going on two misadventures which his new trainer would catch his first Pokémon and evolve into a Butterfree, Pikachu finds himself participating in his first gym battle at Pewter city where he and Ash meet the gym leader Brock.
When reaching the Hoenn Region, Pikachu became sick due to Team Rocket's electromagnet. It is known as the Symptoms of Electrical Discharge by Professor Birch. Professor Birch intend to help Ash to cure of his illness. Pikachu's unwanted electricity was soon extracted by Team Rocket to fully cure him.
Pikachu appears in every episode in the main series along with Ash.
Pikachu is the first Pokémon to defeat a mega evolved Pokémon in the anime without mega evolving. It defeated Korrina's Mega Lucario with a Thunderbolt.
In Pokémon Journeys: The Series episode "The Climb to Be the Very Best!", it’s confirmed Pikachu became a Gigantamax Pikachu when absorbing the Dynamax energy when confronting a Gigantamax Drednaw. Pikachu used "G-Max Volt Crash" to defeat the Gigantamax Drednaw.
Trivia[]
- Former director and storyboard artist Masamitsu Hidaka has stated that Ash and Pikachu will be the main characters in every generation of the Pokémon anime. This remained true until the announcement of To Be A Pokémon Master which marks the final chapter of Ash and Pikachu as the main characters, as well as Pokémon Horizons, which Liko and Roy are the main protagonists instead.
- He also stated that Ash will continue collecting badges which also remained true until Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon which were replaced with trials. Also, in Pokémon Journeys, Ash participates in a worldwide tournament known as the World Coronation Series rather than collecting badges despite that there are gyms in that Galar region.
- In spite of their departure, the director claims that Ash and Pikachu will return in the nearby future as it says their department will be temporarily (whether they reprises their roles).
- Pikachu has a history of always accidentally destroying the female companions' bicycles with his thunderbolt.
