Asher Forrester is one of the five playable characters in the Game of Thrones Video Game. Asher is the protagonist in the Essos storyline. His goal is to bring back and lead an army to help House Forrester defeat House Whitehill.
Asher had always been a rebellious youth – brawling in taverns, sleeping with whores, and finding ways to raise his father’s ire. But his life took a dark turn when, at age seventeen, he fell in love with Gwyn Whitehill, the eldest daughter of his father’s bitter rival. Bloodshed ensued and Lord Forrester faced a grim choice: go to war, or exile Asher across the Narrow Sea. He chose the latter. Asher remains in Essos to this day, living as a sellsword, trying not to think about the life he left.
If Rodrick sacrifices himself to defend them from Gryff, Asher becomes the new Lord of House Forrester.
Asher is known as a skilled fighter with a thirst for battle. Asher is a highly violent man and he solves his problems by fighting, not talking. If Asher notices someone close to him is being abused by another person, his first instinct is to beat the abuser to death, as stated by Elissa Forrester when she told Ethan about the time that Asher nearly beaten the former bully of Ethan to death when he caught him picking on Ethan.
During his time in Essos he sends his brothers and sisters gifts such as coins and other items from the culture of Essos to make sure they know he still remembers and still cares deeply for them.
