Ashley "Ash" Brown is one of the eight main protagonists of Supermassive Games' Until Dawn, a 2015 interactive horror drama video game and its 2024 remake.
She is the best friend of Sam, Mike, Josh, Emily, Matt, Jessica, Hannah, and Beth and the love interest of Chris.
She is voiced and motion-captured by Galadriel Stineman, who also played Gwen Tennyson in Ben 10: Alien Swarm.
Overview[]
Ashley is a smart cookie she spends most of her time the library and is often found reading a book. However Ashley has an overactive imagination making her very paranoid and jumpy. She is not a fan of anything scary and easy freaks out at the first sign of danger.
Ashley is seen as an onlooker and participant during the pranks on Hannah Washington. During the prank Ashley hides behind a door laughing as she waits for Hannah. Ashley pops out of her hiding place along with everyone else after Hannah takes her shirt off.
A year later she returns to the lodge for a getaway and encounters the Psycho, who is really Josh, multiple times. Near the climax of the game, she learns about the wendigos and reads in the Stranger's journal that wendigo bites are not infectious after Emily almost gets shot by Mike for being bitten. She then joins the group to search for Mike and returns to the lodge where she can escape or be killed in the lodge. If she survives, the lodge will be blown up and she will be rescued and interrogated by the police.

Not much is known of Ashley Brown's past, but she became friends with Chris Hartley, Matt Taylor, Sam Giddings, Mike Munroe, Emily Davis, Jessica Riley, Josh, Hannah and Beth Washington.
The Prank[]
While with her friends at the Washington family lodge, Ashley participates in a prank orchestrated by Jessica to humiliate Hannah's crush on Mike. The prank resulted in Hannah running of the lodge, ending with her and Beth disappearing and being considered dead during the police investigation. While Ashley's feelings towards the incident are determined by the player, the incident formed a rift in the group and left Josh devasted.
Until Dawn[]
One year later, Josh invites his friends back to the lodge for an annual getaway and to honor his sisters.
Personality[]
Ashley is very studious, loving to read books and being academic. She is also very smart, trying to figure out what each of the clues she finds mean. Even though Ashley is one of the smarties in the group gets scared and frightened very easily compared to the rest of her friends. Ashley cares deeply for her friends but when it comes to danger she will not risk her own life to save her friends. Not only is Ashley the most cowardly of her friends she also over exaggerates and overreacts when she finds out that Emily was bitten by a wendigo.
