Kamikaze, better known by his hero name, Atomic Samurai, is a supporting character of the anime, manga and webcomic series, One Punch Man. He is one of the most powerful heroes of the Hero Association, the S-Class, Rank 4 and a master swordsman member of the Council of Swordmasters.
Appearance[]
Kamikaze is a samurai in his late 30s, with long black hair tied in a ponytail, black eyes. He is often seen chewing on a small wooden stick. He often wears a blue haori covered by a long red coat, a wear white traditional robe or Hakama in Japanese. As a samurai, he has both of his two swords on the left side of his waist.
Personality[]
Atomic Samurai is an arrogant indivuidual, as he rejected Saitama, when he asked for a handshake, saying that he only acknowledges and respects the strong heroes that he would greet him properly only if he reach the high rank of the S-Class heroes. He also seems to allow others to call his students weak but with discomfort. He can also be sensitive, when he was being called a middle-aged man, or when his disciple, Iaian lost his left arm in the battle against the Dark Matter Thieves's general Melzargard he refused to let him give up on his career as a swordsman.
Abilities[]
- Immense Superhuman-Speed: Among the heroes, Atomic Samurai possesses some of the fastest speed with especially when using his attack: Atomic Slash, he can slash something into countless tiny pieces in the blink of an eye. His speed can easily surpass Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who is also known to be insanly fast. He easily defeated a former member of the Council of Swordmasters, Haragiri, who is claimed to be even faster than the speed of the sound.
Trivia[]
- His design is inspired by the character Kyūzō from the 1954 Japanese film Seven Samurai.
- He has many disciples and students within the Council of Swordmasters, but he will only the strongest of his disciples to join the Hero Association and to fight along side with him, as there are three of them that are already in the organization; Iaian, Okamaitachi and Bushidrill.
- All three of his student's names are named after Japanese words related to swordsmanship and samurais.
- According to Fubuki, all of the three students are already strong enough to be in S-Class, however because of the ranking system of the Hero Association, Sweet Mask act on purpose as a gatekeeping which blocks the way of his students of becoming S-Class heroes.
