Audra Phillips is a supporting character in Stephen King's IT (Miniseries 1990) and its 1985 novel of IT, and a minor character in the 2019 sequel IT: Chapter 2.

Audra is played by the late Olivia Hussey in the 1990 miniseries and by Jess Weixler in the 2019 sequel.

Novel[]

Audra makes her first appearance in Stephen King's 1985 novel of IT. And in the novel, she's a model and actress known as Raeven Denbrough. And she does have moments in the book that she is working with Bill. When Bill tries to leave to Derry, he begged her to stay for her safety which Audra agreed to, but she later secretly followed him the next day. However, following her husband was a big mistake for her because she was latered fooled by IT and was captured by him when he was using Tom Rogan in order to use Audra to lure Bill. Luckily, she survived and was rescued by her husband and the Losers Club from IT's lair.

She was also the only victim of IT that survived the death defying limbo. Later after she was a catatonic state, Bill supports her by taking her on a bicycle ride when he was a kid. At the same time, he aping Lone Ranger because of an incident that happened to in order to revive Richie Tozier. Despie this, Bill then finally frees his wife from the disorder and overcame his fears. During the end of the film, Bill and Audra finally did their real kiss.

Films[]

1990 (Miniseries)[]

Audra appears in the 1990 miniseries as a supporting character, played by Olivia Hussey. Just like the novel, she was again captured by IT, not Tom Rogan. Pennywise (also known as IT as his real name) secretly follows Audra after noticing that she was following Bill. As a matter of fact, Pennywise uses Audra to attract Bill in his spider form. Pennywise next hypnotizing Audra by saying "Don't ya want a balloon?" repeatedly. And he drags her into the sewer, he leaves Audra's purse outside to give Bill a clue of where he and Audra are. Fortunately, she was saved by her husband and his friends and IT failed to kill them.

IT: Chapter 2 (2019 sequel)[]

Audra also appears in the 2019 sequel and is played by Jess Weixler. Unlike her appearance in the novel and the 1990 miniseries, her role is a minor character. She first appears in one of Bill's journals and right before he left back to his hometown to help his friends defeat IT. Unlike the novel and miniseries, she follows Bill to Derry offscreen.

  • According to Jess Weixler and New Line Cinema Lin Pictures Vertigo Entertainment KatzSmith Productions, the reason why Audra Philips serves as a minor character instead of a supporting character/major character in the film was because of Jess weixler's pregnancy.
  • It's possible that she is the resemblance of Beverly Marsh.
