" My name is Jeanne-Marie Beaubier. Aurora... is a sickness. A symptom of childhood trauma, which I demand be excised. I'll tell you the location of Alpha Flight's base. As soon as you turn on your machines and burn every last vestige of her out of my soul. "

~ Aurora

Aurora, also known as Jeanne-Marie Beaubier, is a captivating character within Marvel's X-Men franchise. As a superheroine, she is closely tied to the X-Men and shares a unique bond as the twin of Northstar. Moreover, she holds the distinction of being a founding member of the esteemed Alpha Flight team.

Origin[]

Aurora, born as Jeanne-Marie Beaubier in Canada, had a challenging early life. After her parents died in a car accident, she and her twin brother Jean-Paul were separated and grew up unaware of each other's existence. Raised in a hyper-religious school, she discovered her mutant powers of flight, believing them to be a divine gift due to her strict religious upbringing. This led to an incident that triggered Dissociative Identity Disorder, resulting in two distinct personalities – one repressed and prim, the other uninhibited and extroverted.

As an adult, she became a schoolteacher and later encountered Wolverine, who led her to reunite with her twin brother, Jean-Paul (Northstar), and join the superhero team Alpha Flight. Throughout her journey, Aurora experienced various challenges, including her personalities' conflicts, romantic relationships, and involvement with the Weapon X program. Despite her mental struggles, she remained a resilient and valued member of Alpha Flight, using her mutant abilities to fight for the greater good.
