Autobot Protoforms is the initial form of most of the Autobots members, back when they're still on Planet Cybertron. They served as one of main protagonist's support groups in Transformers movie franchise.
History[]
Pre-history[]
Prior the time of the transformers, the Creators used their deadly bomb devices called Seeds to turn planets’ organic life into their elemental metal in order to create a powerful godlike cube device called the AllSpark. Centuries later, the AllSpark created the seven individuals Primes known as Dynasty Primes. They later bow to Primus as their sentience godlike homeworld, which they resides and created many living humanoid-like organic known as Cybertronians. Time after time, Cybertron had reached its weakened state, causing most of the unborn Cybertronian Protoforms died before could reached their adulthood states in their energon womb chamber, thus need to fueled its enegon blood veins energy by harvesting planet with a Sun. All of Primes (except for Megatronus) hesitated to do it, as they made rule to not destroyed any living inhabits planets with a Sun. Megatronus rebels against his elder brothers while claiming matrix leadership for his own plan, but his plan eventually stopped by his elder heroic brothers whom defeat him and locked him up in Cybertron as retribution for his treachery, he later renamed as The Fallen. The six Primes willingly sacrifices their body inside the tomb, so no one can discovered both their remains or matrix leadership.
Several years later, Cybertron is ruled one of Dynasty Primes descendent, Sentinel Prime. Sentinel Prime with his own idealsm claimed that freedom is everyone rights, which become good motivation for all Cybertronians. However, this wasn't last long, as Megatron whom corrupted by greedy planned to rule Cybertron for himself, to finished what The Fallen started. The battle happens, with none wins, leaving Cybertron as dying empty location with The Fallen was left behind in his cage chamber.
Transformers: 2007[]
The four Autobots come to Earth in their Protoforms, when Bumblebee receives a message from his group. The four Autobot Protoforms are none other than Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet. They're seen in their Protoforms, before revealed their true forms after many scanned Earth's vehicle alt-modes.
Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Video Game[]
A video game prequel based on third movie, takes place after both Transformers 2 Revenge Of The Fallen and Transformers Human Alliance Arcade Game events occurred. In this video game, many Autobot Protoforms are shown in the form of Autobot Troopers. Their role was tasked to assist other Autobots factions, by stopped all Decepticon plans. However, many of them died fighting against high ranked specialist Decepticons, leaving only a few surviving.
Transformers 4: Age of Extinction[]
Despite not directly appears, the KSI Sentries are heavily implies created from Autobot Troopers whom have been murdered by Lockdown while their remains were salvaged by KSI corporation, at some point after final battle of Chicago. The rest surviving are possibly hiding in Cuba.
Transformers 5: The Last Knight[]
In aftermath the final battle following Megatron and Quintessa were defeated, Optimus Prime calls all the Autobots to returning back to their original homeworld. The call messages was rechieved by other surviving Autobots Protoforms around the world. With the staff currently belongs with Optimus, he used it to revived the dying Planet Cybertron once again, while restored its old glorious era.
Appearance[]
Because it is still in its initial form, Autobot Protoform has the appearance of an alien humanoid robot-like shaped. Having both arms and legs that resembles humanoid-mammals. Their eyes are blue (some individuals are green), and their bodies are covered in metal.
Personality[]
Protoform Autobots are obedient, wise, friendly, firm, and honorable creature. They willingly protect human races from upcoming threats regardless of the costs.

Theory & Speculation[]
- The Protoform form of the Autobots are theorized as their adaptation forms on planet Earth, especially the appearance of the four Autobots in the first film.
- This can be right and false at the same time. If transformers fans read the IDW prequel comics, where some Autobots do have a Cybertronian form but didn't featuring a Protoforms. In these cases, Orion Pax and Ultra Mammoth are still maintaining their Protoforms, possibly as their only Cybertronian forms.
- According to Lockdown, Optimus Prime was already cybertronian knight since beginning. Suggested, that Orion Pax despite his Protoform is also already type of cybertronian knight.
- In Dark of the Moon, several Autobot Protoforms are recently died when Optimus Prime enter the Ark Ship. This led everyone believed that Sentinel Prime already betraying Autobots since beginning.

- In 2007, Autobot Protoform received an action figure version in the deluxe class series.
- In 2014, Takara Tomy made Movie Advanced Series, one of them being deluxe class Optimus Prime Protoform (Orion Pax) based on his IDW comic appearance.
- In 2017, Hasbro made Mission To Cybertron Series, where they made 2 pack series contained two deluxe figures of Optimus Prime along with his Protoform.
- In the prequel video game Transformers 3, the Autobot Troopers whom appear in game are heavily implied to be special type of Autobot Protoforms.
- In Dark of the Moon, all the three Wreckers featuring their Cybertronian Protoforms in their concept arts.
- Like its counterpart, Decepticon Protoform, Autobot Protoform was also birthed from Energon Womb. Which means they need absorbing energon's fluid as their only nutrition, when still fetuses stages.
- In The Last Knight ending, after Optimus Prime bide farewell to human. It is safe assumed, he used the staff to not only reviving Cybertron but also recreate Autobot Protoforms back from their long extinction.
