Organization Overview

And now we stand here together as one, proving we all have the power to transform. To become who we were destined to be. To right wrongs. To make our world better. Because here, freedom and autonomy are the rights of all sentient beings. Here, all are truly Autobots! This message is a warning to all Quintessons: if you dare return to Cybertron, the Autobots will be waiting. I will be waiting. I am Optimus Prime!
~ Optimus Prime's monologue in the film's ending, officially establishing the Autobots.

The Autobots, formerly known as the Miners, are the main protagonists of the 2024 science fiction action film Transformers One. They were originally miners, and later overthrew Sentinel Prime's regime and were now rebuilding Iacon after D-16 ordered its destruction until Orion Pax (now rechristened as Optimus Prime) defeated him and the High Guard, later rebranded as Decepticons, and banished them afterwards.

History[]

They were non-transforming miners (known as cogless bots), a labor unit of cogless Cybertronians who were a lower social class on Cybertron. It is said they were born without cogs. They lived off manual labor, extracting Energon of the dangerous mines in Iacon City under the command of the former Captainwoman Elita-1, which they produced it for the good of Cybertron established by their noble leader, Sentinel Prime. Among their ranks were some renowned miners such as Jazz, Arcee, Ironhide, Sideswipe, and many others.

Once they learn from Orion Pax who told them and exposed Sentinel as a corrupt dictator who had in fact stolen all of their cogs and made a deal with the Quintessons to hand over the Energon in exchange for their deal, the miners quit and rebelled, forming a rebellion with Orion to fight against Sentinel's regime. They battled the Trackers using their jet packs and mining equipment, eventually putting an end to the Energon labor exploitation. Later, as some miners were still pushing Energon carts, they stop and listen to Sentinel's crimes on how he removed their cogs and forced them to mine so he can pay off the Quintessons and live like a king. Then when they saw the latest memory of him and his men bowing to the Quintesson High Commander, the miners all react with anger and disgust that their leader is a traitor, a fraud, and a liar. The miners then revolt against Sentinel calling him a liar and then flipping over the Energon carts in anger.

When Orion Pax (now rechristened as Optimus Prime), Elita-1 and Bumblebee in charge, they returned all the transformation cogs to the miners and will now rebuild Cybertron to its former glory. They soon created a benevolent force known as the Autobots and will soon face threats of the future; be they the Quintessons or the Decepticons led by D-16 (now rechristened as Megatron).

Quotes[]

Ironhide: You can't be serious, we just work twenty two hours with a break. These miners are tired and need time to repaired.

Darkwing: Sentinel Prime wants more Energon! So get back in the mines! Before I make you get back in the-

~ Ironhide arguing with Darkwing before Orion Pax returns to knock out Darkwing and rally the miners.
Miner: LIAR!

Miner 2: We trusted you

~ Some of the Miners calling out Sentinel for lying to them and flipping the Energon carts after learning he is a servant to the Quintessons.

Trivia[]

  • It is unknown how they got their symbol.
  • Thirteen (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, Hound, Bluestreak, Brawn, Windcharger, Prowl, Huffer, and Sunstreaker) of the eighteen original Autobots who first appeared together in the original cartoon appear in this movie. Although Cliffjumper's and Mirage's names only appeared on the race board and Ratchet's name was said over the speaker after the race where Orion and D are being greeted by Sentinel, while Trailbreaker and Gears do not appear in the film.
  • Aside from the four main protagonists, Ironhide, Sideswipe, Arcee, Jazz, and Prowl are the only miners fully shown getting their transformations/cogged forms onscreen after Optimus gives back their cogs that were robbed by Sentinel, though Prowl's model was reused from one of the Iacon 5000 racers.
  • Optimus, Elita, and Bee are the only Autobots to show their alt modes onscreen, since the rest of them after getting their cogs back during Optimus' ending speech reused the Iacon 5000 racers alt modes.
  • Considering on what happened to him in the film, D-16/Megatron is the only miner bot who didn't become an Autobot and the only one to become a Decepticon, considering he is the founder of the latter.
  • Many of the miners have color schemes that evoke existing Transformers characters: as a yellow, black and red Jazz resembles Jackpot, an orange and purple Moonracer resembles Lancer, a recolor of "Not Chromia" seems to be based on Greenlight, a blue Sideswipe looks like War for Cybertron Trilogy Deep Cover, an orange and pink Arcee resembles her cancelled prototype from the original toyline and a white-and-blue Brawn seems intended to evoke Twin Twist. A purple-crested, gold-faced Prowl resembles Barricade, can also be seen in the crowd during Orion's big speech.
  • Once the miners retrieve their T-Cogs, their size changes and they become much larger, these being their original sizes.
