Aya is one of the main characters turned final antagonist of the Green Lantern series. She is a female artificial intelligence and former navigator aboard the Interceptor. Housed within the fastest ship in the galaxy, she is the most advanced A.I. ever devised.
She was voiced by Grey Griffin.
Biography[]
Aya was created to become an A.I to understand, interact and emphasize with emotional beings. However, after she grew out of control, she was deactivated.
She laid dormant until she was activated by Hal Jordan and Kilowog. She was mistakenly given the name "Aya", after Hal misinterpreted the word A.I. During her time with the Green Lanterns in Frontier Space, she developed a yearning to become a Green Lantern, hoping to become one some day.
During their adventures, Aya grew close to the Red Lantern Razer after witnessing the loss of his love. Eventually, they both fell in love. In the end Aya destroyed herself to save the universe. Despite her presumed destruction, Razer refused to give up on her. He vowed to find her, even if he had to scout the entire universe. This led Razer to becoming a Blue Lantern, that were powered by hope.
The fate of Razer and Aya are left for the imagination of the viewers, but one theory is that they were eventually reunited.
