Ayesha Altugle is the titular main protagonist of Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk and a minor character in Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea (major in Plus and DX version).
She is a young apothecary and lives in a secluded workshop with her grandfather, and sister, Nio. After her grandfather passed away, her sister Nio disappeared while gathering herbs. One day, Ayesha sees Nio walking through ruins which prompted her to start a journey to find her.
She is voiced by Marina Inoue in the Japanese version, and by Erika Harlacher in the English version.

Background[]
Ayesha and her sister lived with their grandfather in his workshop, until he passed away. Not long after, her sister mysteriously disappeared, leaving her alone in the workshop.
Atelier Ayesha[]
Ayesha is the first seen working in her workshop. She makes medicine for her friend Ernie. She later visits her sister's grave (the third anniversary of her absence).
While there, she witnessed a figure looking nearly identical to her missing sister, she then meets Keithgriff Hazeldine (a by-passing alchemist), who tells her that her that she is alive, but will not be able to do it by her own hands. A highly determined Ayesha set out on a journey reunite with her, during her journey she meets and befriends various people. She will always be accompagned by her cow Pana.
If Ayesha is not able to rescue her sister at the end of the game. Keithgriff will come to the worshop with her saying he saved her at Ayesha place.
If Ayesha is able to find her sister, she will first fight Yggdrasil. After his defeat, Ayesha bring back Nio at the workshop. Nio will later ask to join Ayesha in her party sometimes.
At the end of the game, the player will choose the ending for which he fulfills the conditions.
Atelier Escha and Logy[]
Ayesha doesn't apprears in the game but in mentionned numerous times, notably by Nio. We learn that Ayesha travelled with Keithgriff and Odelia and is now officially Keithgriff's apprentice.
Escha and Logy learns from Nio that her sister is wanted by The Center after entering an important ruin and might be the cause of the ruin having collapsed.
Atelier Shallie[]
Ayesha appears with Nio at the end of the game. They join Keithgriff and Odelia on their journey. She is sometimes mentioned by other characters during the game.
In Atelier Shallie Plus, Ayesha has a more important role. In Shallistera's story, Ayesha first appears as a mysterious person who helps Shallotte to synthesize a medicine for her mother. She will later join the party and assist the Shallies in their adventures.
Personality[]
While internally struggling with both her grandfathers passing, and Nio's disappearance, Ayesha tries her hardest to remain upbeat and continue running the workshop as an apothecary.
Ayesha determined nature is on full display, and is hopeful in finding/rescuing her sister. She became eager at the prospect of becoming an alchemist, despite knowing very little. Ayesha is very keen on trying new things, even if unsuccessful or unsure of herself, in fact a true testament to her determination is that she never gives up on her goals, no matter how difficult or impossible it seems (even against the likes of Yggdrasil).
Ayesha is very naive and kind-hearted, offering to help others in their struggles.
Power and Abilities[]
Compared to her other allies in the game, Ayesha is physically the weakest character, but her high health and item inventory makes her an extremely resourceful asset (lhealing allies, inducing status ailments, bombing enemies, etc).
Aside form combat, Ayesha is a skilled apothecary and makes various medicines, taught to her by her late grandfather. As far as alchemy, Ayesha quickly learns the ropes of it within a three year span (via creating various items). Her affinity for alchemy has grown to the point where a master alchemist like Keithgriff not only sees the potential in her, but later takes her under his wing as a student.

- When first introduced to the hot air balloon, Ayesha is pertubed of heights.
- Ayesha has a fondness for cute things (such as the homunculus race, or Nio).
- The identity of Ayesha and Nio's birth parents are unknown.
- It's shown that Ayesha's a great cook, later offering to teach Linca.
- Ayesha mentions that she need her cauldron with her, otherwise she'll feel insecure without it.
